Food in the Serenity area

 Share

Recommended Posts

you could probably take a plate of food to almost anywhere on the ship.

i have taken a plate to the Bar, My room, pool area.

.....cookies to the showroom.

****

Depending on the ship, there are tables in the Serenity area. Ate many breakfasts and lunches on the Miracle Serenity deck.

I usually have breakfast on the serenity deck and maybe lunch too. Tip: go to the Serenity area early. Pick a spot. lay claim then hustle down to BI or Lido buffet, grab you items and head back. If you're early (before 8 AM) you can find a good lounger and maybe a clam shell. and you'll find short or zero lines in the buffets. So you'll not be accused of chair hogging.

Not sure why you'd think there would be restrictions as to where you can take food on the ship??

Uh, because Carnival has a rule not allowing food in the main theaters and comedy lounges so it's reasonable to ask if Serenity allows food.

Been served many times in both the showroom and comedy lounges for various events. Had a great meal at a food demo in Mad Hatters on the Miracle.

Just checked the FunTimes of our St Patrick's Day Imagination cruise. No notification there. Don't remember ever seeing a sign going into any lounge.

Drinks are welcome and are served. Are you saying you were served food in these venues other than an event such as past guest party, etc.? I have seen people with plates of food stopped at the doors and turned around.

Once saw a lady, at 7am sitting at a slot machine, intermittently taking bites of her omelet, sipping her Bloody Mary, smoking her cigarette and spinning the reels trying to get her gambling fix in before the ship pulled into port at 10 am.... NP bringing your burrito up to to serenity (or any outdoor venue for that matter). Enjoy!!

Where have you seen a rule about taking food to the main theater or comedy lounge?

I've done this on just about every one of our 21 Carnival cruise. I've taken a sandwich from the deli and have eaten while playing trivia in the main lounge. I've taken dessert to the comedy club. Etc. I've never seen a rule prohibiting this.

I didn't say I have read a written rule. I have witnessed comedy club managers and ACD staff redirect people with plates a food attempting to enter these venues just prior to and during events other than private and past guest parties. I have seen this more than once.

I am only on number 15 cruise on 8 different ships, I have never seen a sign or anyone turned away. I have heard a comment like "did you bring enough to share?"

Some ships have boxed lunches at the bar on Serenity--or they used to anyway. Think it was Spirit class ships.

Pretty sure the only thing Carnival won't allow is smoking in hallways or walking naked to the casino. That is if any crew bothers to notice.

I guess I am luckier than those people you witnessed.

" Carnival makes it up as they go along and from ship to ship " must be rule one in the Carnival Operations Manual.

I would like to know more about you being served food in these venues. How did that happen, which ship and when?

Primarily sail West Coast. Our one B2B on the Conquest in 2013 was the aberration.

Served food from Carnival at those events and at a great food demo. They'd have a riot on their hands if they didn't allow food in during the Super Bowl.

Think the food issues has to do with the F&B manager and/or the Maitre 'D. ex: Sometimes we are allowed to take dessert out of the MDR and other cruises we can't. Same ship, different MD.
