Tinknock50 Posted May 14, 2017 #76 Share Posted May 14, 2017 Have to agree about the Atrium.Allan Agree too. It reminds of post war modern on the Italian ships of the late 40's and 50's. I would have hoped for a more Noordam look which was more traditional than the others in this class instead.

Cindy Posted May 14, 2017 Author #79 Share Posted May 14, 2017 Do you know what they did with the old chandelier from the atrium? Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app I have no idea. I like a certain amount of contemporary or modern decor, but in my book it's sacrilege to replace crystal with tilting circles![emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Forums

muenchner Posted May 14, 2017 #81 Share Posted May 14, 2017 Thank you so much! I i think they are not done with the Atrium, looks hot finished. HALaftSuitesfor2 Posted May 14, 2017 #83 Share Posted May 14, 2017 We are just off of the Koningsdam, and I must say, changes in this decor are similar to what we experienced. It's seems HA is heading modern, not traditional HA anymore. We thought the ship gorgeous but no Holland America feel. ger_77 Posted May 14, 2017 #86 Share Posted May 14, 2017 I agree with the others on this thread - the Atrium looks very sterile and uninviting. It will be interesting to see if it evolves into something warmer over time. Thumbs down to the hanging artwork that replaces the chandelier. Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

Cindy Posted May 14, 2017 Author #89 Share Posted May 14, 2017 Looking across to the Pinnacle Grill...I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the chairs with the metal backs are gone, and have been replaced with very comfortable upholstered seating. Cindy Posted May 14, 2017 Author #90 Share Posted May 14, 2017 One more pair of pictures. They redid some of the public restrooms, and others still have the old orange and brown color scheme. To me, the old restroom decor looks very dark and dated compared to the new decor. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Cindy Posted May 16, 2017 Author #94 Share Posted May 16, 2017 Believe it or not, I FINALLY got back to my blog! The whole process of resizing and posting pictures from the ship just got too labor intensive for me, so I quit.[emoji4] Here's day 4 of our cruise -- Sunday on the island of Gozo, Malta: http://theworldthroughmylens.blog/2017/05/16/yes-the-water-really-is-that-blue/ Sent from my iPad using Forums

sotiris Posted May 18, 2017 #100 Share Posted May 18, 2017 Hi Cindy We are enjoying reliving our cruise through your eyes. Wonderful photos. You certainly packed a lot into those 12+ days. Thanks again for all your organization on the Roll Call and excursions. I did fill out the survey about the missing refreshments at the Meet and Greet, even though I had sent an email the day of the M&G. We will see what happens.
