jan62au Posted May 24, 2017 #358 Share Posted May 24, 2017 Noticed you said you booked to do sushi rolling and bottomless brunch. I will have to try the cheesecake version, it looks delicious! Definitely good to have a Mai Tai to wash it all down. :D :D Can't wait for 2019! CRUISEBOY305 Posted May 24, 2017 Author #361 Share Posted May 24, 2017 For day 2 in Kauai, I did the RC excursion to Waimea Canyon. Having done the Na Pali Coast the day before, I kind of wish I had done something else instead. I feel like I missed out on a lot more of what Kauai has to offer. I could have easily rented a car for the day, gone to the Canyon and done a bit more in just that one day. Oh well, lesson learned. I do plan on visiting Kauai on a non-cruise trip if not next year, then the year after. I guess I have a very good reason to go back (not that I need much reason [emoji16]) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
CRUISEBOY305 Posted May 24, 2017 Author #362 Share Posted May 24, 2017 FYI... there are chickens and roosters literally EVERYWHERE in Kauai . I woke up early one morning and went for a walk out of the deck and you can hear literally hundreds of them cock-a-doodling. It's an amazing sound. I guess there's no sleeping-in in Kauai. lol Sent from my iPhone using Forums

CRUISEBOY305 Posted May 24, 2017 Author #370 Share Posted May 24, 2017 Dinner at Giovanni's Table was substandard that night. I noticed quite a few cutbacks. In particular in the scallops department [emoji47] We never went back after that night. We pretty much stuck with Izumi and Windjammer most of the cruise Sent from my iPhone using Forums
fraulein65 Posted May 24, 2017 #371 Share Posted May 24, 2017 Anxious to follow along. We do the 11 day (reverse) of this in September. That will be our first Hawaiian adventure. Thanks for taking the time to post... We will be doing the September cruise as well!!! So excited to do a different itinerary other than the Caribbean! CRUISEBOY305 Posted May 25, 2017 Author #372 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Following along too. This cruise is on my bucket list as for me I would rather get a taste for each island then revisit on a land trip. Looking for your you guys on this itinerary vs. the September itinerary Thanks for doing this! Hawaii is not really a cruise destination, IMO but agree that it is a great way to get a small taste of each island and then go back. I'm planning a non-cruise trip to Kauai. We will be doing the September cruise as well!!! So excited to do a different itinerary other than the Caribbean! Sent from my SM-G920V using Forums mobile app Hawaii is so different from the Caribbean, it will be a very nice change.
CRUISEBOY305 Posted May 25, 2017 Author #373 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Our last stop in Lahaina, Maui we had another overnight stay which gave me the perfect opportunity to do the Road to Hana. I had originally booked the Adventure to Hana excursion through Royal but there were 5 of us among my group of friends that were also interested in the Road to Hana and then we each had a light bulb moment and realized it would make more financial sense and be a lot more fun to just rent a car. So we did. we took a taxi from Lahaina to the Hyatt Regency Resort Maui in Ka'anapali to pick up our rental which was $20 and off we were and I must say I'm glad we did it because this was probably my favorite activity of the entire trip (Na Pali cruise comes really close)
