OCruisers Posted May 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2017 About an hour and a half. :)
SuiteTraveler Posted May 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2017 It's not all that formal anymore. A few will dress up, but many will only wear a maxi dress or slacks and a fancy top. Those who go to specialty restaurants may not dress up at all.
Krazy Kruizers Posted May 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2017 A lot has changed on all the cruise lines since you last cruised in 2010. Most of the cruise lines have relaxed their rules about formal dress. Many now call them Gala Nights and even those you will find very, very few people dress up. Ladies wear slacks, skirts, fancy tops or nice dressed. Men wear slacks with collared shirts. No ties and no jackets.
Schoifmom Posted May 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 1, 2017 How long does the formal dinner usually last on the Carnival Liberty? Cruise Elegant evening (there are no "formal" nights) on Carnival cruises does not take any longer than any other evening in the dining room. Allot about 1.5 hours. SadieN Posted May 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 1, 2017 All MDR dinners take about the same amount time. If the first seating is at 6pm, then the second seating will be at 8:15. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
madi54 Posted May 2, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Great! Thanks! We have a 6pm dining time and I just wanted to be sure we were finished in time for the concert. I saw where someone had complained of dinner lasting 2-3 hours lately.

I saw where someone had complained of dinner lasting 2-3 hours lately. Maybe that happened for a different reason, not it being a formal dinner.
