considering Aurora for 25 nights

We have been looking at a few cruises in March our favorites seem to be Adonia to Caribbean and Aurora. The Aurora is looking the favorite but I am considering doing a saver fare for the first time as it is considerable cheaper even taking off the OBC. Can anyone tell us if they have any fixed single beds in the balcony cabins I know that oceana does but unsure if this applies to all their ships. We are quite happy with singles for a week but for 25 nights prefer to be tucked up together. I do like the look of the ship especially the domed pool and she does appear to have a good selection of bars and restaurants. Any positive feedback on the Aurora will be gratefully received.

Many thanks:cool::cool:

Not been on Adonia, but we have been on Aurora twice, both times in B deck balconies with a choice of twin or queen beds. I can't see on the Aurora deck plan any balconies with fixed twin (it does show a few on other decks with fixed doubles).

We love Aurora, she is 'homely', has comfortable enclosed (I.e. Not all open plan in walkway) lounges/ seating areas. The Prom deck is wonderful. The Crows nest (when not rough!) provides a comfy seating area with fab view. The area with tables outside the buffet overlooking the wake, provides an idyllic spot for breakfast and lunch when it's sunny; we managed to have almost every breakfast and lunch out there last Christmas/New Year :) Luckily most people ate their meals then left, to not hog the tables. She has loads of outdoor space with sun beds in the shade or sun. Always found a quiet spot somewhere.

We were amazed on our first cruise on her (a couple of years ago) that she could swallow all her passengers to the point where it never felt crowded or busy. We then went on her last Christmas/New Year for 24 nights to the Caribbean and back. Loved that cruise and we were never bored. Yes there were minor niggles at times, but nothing to impact our fun. We'd go back on her in an instant, but our next two cruises (due to itinerary and dates) happen to be on Arcadia, so we'll be able to compare :). We tried Azura last weekend, but I wouldn't go on a big ship again except for short cruises, there was a lot about Azura that we preferred, but she lacked the 'homely feel' which Aurora excels at.

Aurora is a lovely ship and certainly worth going on. She takes the seas well, so if you're going to cross the Atlantic she would be much better. She has a dedicated Cinema as well.

Adonia is gorgeous, but small. We love her, but, again, if you're going to cross the Atlantic you will definitely need to be a good sailor as she is so much smaller than anything else and would definitely move around. She does not have a Theatre, only a show lounge. Her Crow's Nest is lovely though, and she now has a Glass House. She does not have a Casino.

We would go on either, but then we're good sailors.

We love both of these ships. We are on Aurora for 65 nights next year and we wouldn't do a cruise that long if we weren't more than happy with the ship - she has a lovely feeling on board. We also love Adonia and the longest cruise we've done on her is 17 nights on a Baltic cruise to St. Petersburg. She seemed to take the seas well and we didn't have any problem as far as that is concerned. Her entertainment team is great and they seem able to put on everything from the usual musical shows plus plays performed in the afternoon.

I would happily go on either of these ships but for a longer cruise I would probably choose Aurora just because she has more to offer on board than the much smaller Adonia.

You have described exactly what we like so much about Aurora, Goosebear Mum. I often talk of the 'discrete' comfortable seating areas where we are always able to find space - you mention 'enclosed' lounges etc, not at all in a claustrophobic sense, but I recognise your meaning - in contrast to the seating areas which seem to be part of something else and having little definition or character. They never seem big enough to me either on the Azura for example considering the pax load. Like you, we feel Aurora appears really spacious. And we like the comfy inside cinema too. Can't compare with Adonia but really love the Aurora. We did a 35 night cruise on her and had a great time with no problem filling our days.

Thank you all for your replies it's great to get some positive feedback Aurora is looking to be favorite. The comments regarding her atmosphere and space have been great to read. Going to phone Pand O to try and book her if the beds are ok. We are sailing on Adonia in December but only for 14 nights so really looking forward to that one.
