Ron & Sharon Posted August 7, 2017 #151 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Great review. My wife and I are sailing on the Serenade of the Sea later this month. This review only makes the excitement grow. Thanks for doing it. Ron & Sharon
jimbob22 Posted August 7, 2017 #152 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Great review. We did this cruise about a year ago. Topi and Aysy were great. Lots of long in-port days, and we had dinner in the windjammer many times, but the variety was excellent. Interesting observation about the free coffee: this was the only Royal cruise I've done, but the coffee was the weakest by far compared to Carnival and NCL. Seems the latter two use same-brand coffee dispensing machines (NCL even has some that grind the beans on the spot), but Royal puts out some sort of weak percolated(?) brew. But other than that, it was a great cruise, great entertainment.
Evangaline Posted August 10, 2017 #153 Share Posted August 10, 2017 Will be sailing on the Serenade of The Seas in November and have a question about lunch on embarkation day. Is the Windjammer the only spot where you can get lunch?

Evangaline Posted August 11, 2017 #156 Share Posted August 11, 2017 I am guessing that Lobster night in the MDR is a thing of the past. Noticed you could order it for a price, but I am asking about the actual Lobster night.

Rare Rubyfisch Posted August 11, 2017 Author #158 Share Posted August 11, 2017 Still "free" lobster on one night, usually on cruises of 5 nights or longer based out of the US.It was my understanding that in recent memory, lobster night was never a thing on European cruises. Being from New England, lobster is not something I seek out when away from home, so I didn't pay much attention to discussions of its availability. I agree, many have reported that there was no "free"lobster on European (or other non US based) cruises.

We are on a 7 night Caribbean cruise out of Fort Lauderdale so it should be good.
