shartzog71 Posted May 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Are there different drink packages available and what are the costs? We've been sailing on Celebrity and trying to decide if we should sail Princess.

Rare patrickmoran Posted May 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Drink prices on Princess are 20 to 30% cheaper than X. P's alcohol drink package is closer to X's premium than the classic. Most everything is covered.
Thrak Posted May 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2017 There is almost nothing that isn't covered unless you sail on Emerald with the new Whiskey Adventures. In that case there is quite a bit of premium whiskey that isn't covered. If you just want regular liquor - including 12 year old single malt scotch - it's covered. geocruiser Posted May 25, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2017 If you just want plain water Princess has 12 small bottles (16.9oz) for about $6.90. Also some thing else that might help you choose Princess is the military OBC for every sailing. http://www.princess.com/military_benefit_program/ Also if you own CCL stock 100 shares, you will get OBC too.. Rare Hlitner Posted May 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2017 The drink packages sound great until we do some real math. DW and I have spent far more then 1000 days on cruise ships. We both enjoy adult beverages including wine, cocktails, cognac, etc. When we started thinking about our cruise history and reviewing some of our invoices we could not find a single day where we ever spent over $100 (per couple) on drinks during a single cruise day. On sea days we generally average $65-$75 for our total bar bill (that is for 2). On busy port days our average is slightly less. The Princess package would cost us about $120 a day (per couple) and we would have to force ourselves to drink more in an attempt to just break even. Folks should consider their own drinking habits and decide what works best for themselves. Hank
skynight Posted May 25, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 25, 2017 Are there different drink packages available and what are the costs? We've been sailing on Celebrity and trying to decide if we should sail Princess. If you are speaking about packages that include alcoholic beverages there is only one, the All Inclusive Beverage Package (AIBP) which includes all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages menu priced US$10 and under, plus 40% off bottles of wine priced up to US$100. The cost for pre-purchase is US$57.35/pp/day, price includes the gratuity, and must be purchased for all days of the cruise. The price is a few dollars more if purchased on board. The package covers around 95%+ of all beverages served on board, but excludes room service. The breakeven is somewhere around 5 or 6 cocktails/day, every day, more if you drink straight spirits or beer. There is also an unlimited soda & more package for $8.05/pp/day as well as some other sales packages. Search for Princess Cellars to review them, or if booked go to your cruise personlizer they are shown there.
