Casino DOU card

Sailing on Breeze in October, on Casino Premier cruise. So we both get the DOU card for the casino.

Question is, can we just walk up to the Winners Luck Bar and get a drink. Or do we have to order it while playing on a table or slot?

Thanks

You need to be playing at a table or slots to get a drink. I round that tipping the server a couple bucks got better service and a little leeway as to whether or not I was at a machine. Have fun.

Premier cruises are always really busy in the casino so it's challenging to get a drink at times - almost everyone has the DOU cards. I've been standing at a machine waiting for someone to vacate and the waiters will take my order - so I don't think you have to actually be playing - but you definitely can't walk up to the bar and order.

I too tip at least $2 per drink, but on the Premier cruises I've taken in the past it hasn't helped all that much as far as how long it takes to get a drink - the waiters are just slammed. My suggestion is that you order another when you're getting close to finishing the one you have (lol).

The casino DOU card is not accepted at the casino bar. At least I don't know of anyone who used it there during my 5 or 6 casino cruises.

You are supposed to be actively playing a machine or table game, but if you are on the casino floor, you can certainly attempt to order without much difficulty.

You do not need to consume the drink there. We went to the casino for the 8 pm casino drawing, ordered some wine and a water for me, and left with the drinks for the late MDR seating.

I earned the DOU perk recently. If I was just IN the casino, my favorite server would find me & brink me a cocktail. Twice w/o asking for another. I was headed back towards the slots, but not playing, & a server asked if I needed a FunShip. It was my great experience, that just being in the casino, had free drinks coming. They weren't strict on the 5 min rule either. I got 2 back to back from different servers. (One from "my guy" that I tipped well & the other from a different server. I found, if you take care of the waiters, they take care of you. I tipped $5 on my first freebie & $3 after. Got sideways doing that, lol.

My hubs only went once, lost $40 & was done, lol. I got my points on the second to last night. In Jan., on Fantasy, I'll have Cheers. I plan to take a set cash amount for the casino. When I'm broke, I'm done for the sailing.

I saw an awful nasty woman, throw her cup on a waiters tray, as he was handing me my receipt. I looked at her like, WTH?!? She just laughed & walked away. That's when I tipped him, what he said was too much. The next day, when I had my DOU card, he kept the cocktails flowing. I was appalled by that woman's behavior. I apologized to the sweet server. I try to treat everyone the same. Her actions still irk me. Her grin walking away was what did it. She didn't treat him w diginity or respect or even say, excuse me. I can't stand people like that. It worked out for me later, but still bothers me.

"Free" cocktail or not, do still tip please. We know we pay for them, by our gambling, but don't be a jerk.

I agree with the others that you must be playing to get DOU free drinks. Since the server's tip is based on 15% of the price, free equals no tip showing on the receipt. I've found if I tip reasonably when the server brings those free drinks, I've had little problem getting a drink. You can either manually add it to the receipt you sign, or tip in cash. The exception I've found though is if I go to the casino to play in the mornings on sea days when it's less smoky, there are not any servers working during that time, so there's no free drinks during that time, especially considering many people enjoy a Bloody Mary or Mimosa that time of the day.
