alidor Posted June 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2017 I don't believe it applies, but does Global Entry work out of Amsterdam?
Ine Posted June 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2017 As far as I know no global entry in Amsterdam.
CruiserBruce Posted June 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2017 We need to clarify a couple of things. I think your first question is, is there "pre-clearance" in AMS. That is where Americans meet their Immigration and Customs requirements before they actually touch US soil, thus making their flight essentially a domestic flight to the US. There are a number of Canadian airports that have this, but I believe in Europe, there is only two Irish airports that have "pre-clearance". Then, the second question, if there is "pre-clearance", do they have Global Entry? But, again, I don't believe AMS has pre-clearance.
alidor Posted June 12, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Thank you. This is pretty much what I thought. Wish it did apply as it certainly makes life easier. We flew back from Dublin last year and they did have it. Just got off the plane in Chicago with no customs or immigrations, just like a domestic flight. It was nice!! DrivesLikeMario Posted June 13, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2017 (edited) I can tell you we definitely did not go through US customs in Amsterdam. We have Global Entry and that is a US thing so you'd do that on US soil usually (a few exceptions to that like DUB, YVR, etc.).
