Vibe Beach Club on the Escape...is it that competitive?

Recommended Posts

We are on Nov 25 sailing on Escape. I am hoping we get lucky and are able to get the passes. I am thinking about purchasing the SPA passes just in case we are not able to get the Vibe. Which week in November did you cruise?

Heads up, not sure if it matters to you but it gets super windy up there in November. Like, tornado vortex, close all the umbrellas, lock down the chairs windy at times.

We were just on the Escape last week. We did not get Vibe passes but I never experienced the problems getting a drink that I have heard from many people. We were always able to get loungers in Spice H20.

The funny thing was, I looked into Vibe several times during both sea days and it was empty so I don't know why everyone bought up the passes and then didn't use them.

This has been my experience both times we got Vibe passes. It can be outright boring but if you want some peace and personal space, it is invaluable. It generally is busy the first day as everyone checks it out, and the last sea day as people realize they bought this pass thing and never used it.

We are staying overnight in Miami so could get to the port as early as necessary but will they let us board? I thought the rule was that boarding was 12 noon or so, is that not correct? If you can go early do you have to have booked that boarding time or can you just show up?

If you want the best shot at getting them, be at the port around 8:30 and meet the other aspiring Vibers. Boarding is around 11:30-12:00 so the downside to getting the early boarding number is a lot of hanging out...a good couple of hours anyway.

It's only worth it because Escape has famously overcrowded pools. Vibe is essentially what other cruise lines give you complimentary... if that.

Personally, I'd take the spa over Vibe any day. If I want outdoor/hang out then Spice H2O and a pool bar is more than adequate. If I want a quiet space, the spa is unbeatable, especially on Escape which has a ridiculously awesome thermal suite.

I've had the Vibe twice, once it was great and we enjoyed hanging out with the same people all week. The other time it was so windy the chairs were chained down and there was no bar service. We got a partial refund for the week. So it's really hit or miss.

This.

The wind is a serious factor worth considering. It was insane several days.

We were on the Escape last week. We did the “vibe club amazing race”

Here’s how we did it:

Our “scheduled” boarding time was 1130....we totally disregarded that and arrived at the port terminal at 9 am. There were probably 20 passengers already there. There were several families so I thought they were probably not running for the vibe passes since it’s adults only.

We did our check in and were able to get into boarding group 1. I asked the security guard to show me where boarding would begin and I parked myself there, first in line to board the ship. I boarded at 1115 Andy immediately went To Headliners (one floor done when you board the ship). We got numbers 23 and 24. Appparently a lot of Haven guests and lattitudes preferred guest scooped up 1 to 22. By the time they called group 3 all the passes were sold.

We had a great time in the Vibe. The same 20 people were there most days and it was a fun group. The Vibe has really wonderful service..they check your credentials on the first day and will know your name after that. It was very windy a few days but fortunately they never had to close the bar. There is NO MUSIC whatsoever and they do not allow passengers to play music. It is a generally very quiet area until 4ish in the afternoon when the shots start getting poured...then it’s more of a happy hour vibe. A few times other passengers tried to sneak in and they were immediately escorted out. Security is strict in the vibe.

We have been on Escape before and didn’t get the vibe pass and we were quite happy....this time with 2000 kids onboard we were thrilled to have the vibe!

So they killed the music in the Escape Vibe too huh? When I went on Escape a couple of years ago and had Vibe, it was a party atmosphere. Had a blast. On the Getaway last year, we were told no music, no this, no that. It was like returning to Catholic School to the point I probably won't bother with Vibe again.

100% agreed on the awesomeness of the spa. I had both, spa and Vibe, and I used both all week. If I had to choose, I would take the spa.

Waterfront, too. The more I think about it, I don't get the point of Vibe as Escape has numerous other places to sit and relax. If vibe had a private pool, different story, but it's just a bar with a spa and loungers. You can get that at spice, which at least has the cavern to cool off.

Just off of the Escape this am and had the Vibe. We arrived at the port and had boarding group 7, which boarded a few minutes after the Haven guests. My relatives were in the Haven and were able to get the passes for all of us, so we didn't need to rush to Headliners but at that point (around 11:15am), they still had passes available. I heard there were 70 passes for our cruise. It is 100% worth it. You have your own hot pool, basically a hot tub without bubbles, there is a bar, a misting station, plenty of pool chairs. It's the best! If you can, definitely try to get it. All of the waiters were awesome but Roberto who was up there is the best! We saw him at night in Skyliner too and he always was ready to get us our drinks!

You got lucky with Vibe because your family was in Haven. I think they hold 20 passes for Haven guests. We are Platinum and got to the port around 9:30 and because of Platinum were in boarding pass 1. We had a wonderful time in Vibe, but there are plenty of places to enjoy the decks if you don't get Vibe.

Do you think that they would give my husband the passes? I am handicapped and it will take me extra time to get to elevator and get to pick up place. I am nervous all the passes will be distributed before I get there.
Relax, you're in a wheelchair so you should be in the pre boarding group, which will guarantee you passes since you will be on board and will be wheeled to Headliners to get your passes ahead of the general boarders.
