xbriannao Posted July 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2017 Have you ever written to John on Facebook? I'm referring to just a random message telling him hi or you'll be on a certain cruise. (Not responding to one of his questions or polls) If so, what did you say and how did it go? What did he respond? maxydu Posted July 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2017 I have and it went fine.......pretty sure he has an assistant that replies to most of his messages. Folks message him asking for "freebies" all the time. I'm sure he must be sick of it. I congratulated him on some achievement......

lovlii Posted July 8, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2017 Folks message him asking for "freebies" all the time. I'm sure he must be sick of it..... JH specifically asks that pax request items for their cruises. Usually they're requesting freebies for door prizes or raffles for group events on board. Also, he has mentioned many times for people to let him know if you have a special event while cruising. He wants to do this...or he wouldn't suggest it! Probably why you see a lot of requests! NewKansasKruiser Posted July 9, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 9, 2017 Yes I have. We had a problem with an excursion on our last cruise. I got absolutely no help at guest services, couldn't get an answer on the phone number, no response to emails sent to Carnival. I sent John a message... no response at all from him. Have you ever written to John on Facebook? I'm referring to just a random message telling him hi or you'll be on a certain cruise. MalleyCat Posted July 10, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 10, 2017 We had a question about a cabin we booked, it was coded differently than the others in it's class. After a few different answers from Carnival, I went to him. He got in touch with the Hotel Manager on the ship who checked it out for us. The whole process took about 2 days, I was really pleased. I know exactly what you're saying and "blowback" is not the word I would choose to describe the inevitable replies. But, that's very charitable of you. ChicagoHusker Posted July 10, 2017 #12 Share Posted July 10, 2017 I would like to send him a message regarding a special event for my upcoming cruise, but I am also reluctant about posting in a public forum the exact dates that I will be on vacation. Is there any way to transmit your sail date and cabin number privately?
gigem_aggies Posted July 10, 2017 #13 Share Posted July 10, 2017 I told him about our grandparents celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on our cruise last week. He sent them a bottle of champagne, a very nice fruit basket, chocolate covered strawberries, 2 medals, and 2 ships on a stick along with a note. :) My grandparents got a kick out of it. momof3cruisers Posted July 11, 2017 #14 Share Posted July 11, 2017 I contacted him several years back with very good results. I had called the special needs dept about some concerns for my son, but the conversation got very side tracked by my own medical information and she kind of blew me off with my concerns about his needs. Not in a rude way, just saying it would be fine but not giving me any info on what to do. I contacted him hoping to get general info. He told me to go to the VIP check in and they would help me. Well, I don't know what he said, but we got stellar service, escorted onto the ship, special arrangements for muster etc. He also sent choc covered strawberries and ships on sticks to both of our cabins. Everyone checked in with us. From the Hotel director to the CD. It was kind of bizarre. I wasn't at all mad in my message. I just said I was concerned about what we should do. My kids were convinced I was BFFs with the guy! Lol

Is there any way to transmit your sail date and cabin number privately? I posted a request on fb to JH when I finally got my brother to take a cruise with, his first. He has anxiety issues with large groups so I wanted a private dining table and could not get anywhere over phone to Carnival. He replied within a couple days and said private message him our room number and he would see what he could do a week before sailing. Ended up getting the private table and we also got a care package in our room as well that was totally unexpected. Go for it. :)

misfit72ford Posted July 13, 2017 #18 Share Posted July 13, 2017 I posted on his page during our cruise to let him know we were having a great time. He gets so many complaints that I wanted to say something good. He responded that it made his day to hear that. Later that day there were chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, and a ship on a stick from him. He also passed on the compliment to the hotel director who gave me a bottle of wine at dinner. I honestly just wanted to make him smile not get stuff. Sent from my SM-G900V using Forums mobile app
maxdude5 Posted July 24, 2017 #19 Share Posted July 24, 2017 I don't see a way to private message John Heald on Facebook(which is what I want to do). I don't want my information public for everyone to see. Am I missing something?

I don't want my information public for everyone to see. Am I missing something? On his Facebook there's a place to post to him. I cant remember exactly what it says. Those posts then aren't visible right away to the public. There's a view visitor posts button and that's where your post will go. I don't want my information public for everyone to see. Am I missing something? Just checked, when you go to his facebook, it says "Write something on this page" and thats where you send your message. Then to see your post- click on "posts" (on the left) and it will show all of his. On the right of his posts will be some other people's and if you click visitor posts it will take you to all of them (where yours will be located.)
