Hello all,

We are a group of 6 adults, a three year old and a baby. We are flying into Orlando on Saturday for an Oasis cruise the next day.

What do you think we be the best way to get to a hotel? We will probably have 8-9 pieces of luggage and two car seats.

Secondly, we need a hotel for one night. We are arriving after 8 at night on Saturday, so we don't need any amenities such as a pool, ect. Just a place to sleep. But a nice place😀.

Thanks for any advice you might have,

Christine

Check out Cortrans, Cocoa Beach Shuttle, or Travelynx for shuttle info.

Closest hotels to the port: Country Inn & Suites, Residence Inn, Homewood Suites, Radisson.

We are flying in on Saturday too. There are 9 of us so we rented a 15 passenger van so we could all be together & have room for our luggage. We plan on eating lunch downtown Disney before heading to Cocoa Beach to our hotel.

Since you are flying in on Saturday night with children, I'd recommend staying at one of the hotels a few miles north of Orlando airport, such as Country Inn and Suites or Homewood Suites, etc., which offer free airport shuttle and free breakfast. There are a number of restaurants close by. If you do a google map search for hotels and restaurants north of Orlando airport, you will find a number to choose from. For transportation, you could do one-way car rentals at the airport with drop off at their Cape Canaveral locations or take the free airport shuttle to the hotel and arrange a shuttle (Cortrans, Cocoa Beach, etc.) to the port in the morning. Hotels are often less expensive in the Orlando airport area than in the Port Canaveral/Cocoa beach area.

When our party of 8 took a cruise out of Port Canaveral, we stayed at the Homewood Suites on Gateway Village Circle, Orlando, and rented two cars through Budget. It worked out great for us because we had flexibility to walk or drive to restaurants, and pick up water and wine and last minute items at a Publix Supermarket 3 miles from the hotel. The drivers of the two rental cars dropped the rest of our party and luggage off at the cruise terminal, returned the rental cars, and then took the free rental car shuttle back to the cruise terminal, where we all checked in together.
