It was prohibited in 2014 and still is, but they usually don't enforce the rule.

I sailed on the Anthem in January and we were allowed to bring on a case of water. I just taped a luggage tag to it and it was delivered with the luggage.

Consider putting it in a small duffel with a luggage tag. That should work fine .

Why? Ships' water is distilled and cleaner than the water from any bottle company. Bring one or two bottles and refill from the tap. Easier and less expensive and hassle.
