Was watching the Key West cam and the Equinox pulled in all the mooring lines, then a storm can in and put out all the lines again. SHe is still there. I guess the pier is better than sailing right now with our weather today.

Onboard right now at dinner. The captain just made an announcement that the pilot is onboard and monitoring conditions and looking for a safe window for us to leave due to high winds. As of now we are told it will not affect our arrival to Costa Maya.

We are close to Mallory Square. Staying overnight because they won't let us leave in the dark. No port security so we are on the ship only. They still told us we will make it to Costa Maya on time.

Whoopie the shops and the casino are closed. My lovely wife is reading a book instead. What a great money saving situation. The beverage package is working. I love cruising!

This is the way my husband would feel if we were on the ship. :D

We were in Key West during the fun Tropical Storm Emily. We could see Equinox from our hotel room and observed it leave Key West about 7:00AM on Tuesday morning.

I had no idea there wasn't port security at night. What a pity the passengers couldn't enjoy the night in Key West. The weather was perfect once Emily blew through. We went out for a walk and saw lots of folks out on Duval and thereabouts.

From our cabin we could see one officer at the little gate. They said there was not enough to monitor passengers who n and off. At the Elite happy hour we spoke to an officer who said there were 50 knot winds offshore during the evening which was why it was unsafe to leave. He also said it is usually not allowed for a ship to stay at that port because it blocks the sunset for the hotels right there and they were given special permission. However, there wasn't much of a sunset to see that night anyway!! We then went full speed during the evening and overnight to make it into Costa Maya in time! Great weather since!!
