Hair Straightener allowed?

Hello all! I'm departing next week on a Costa Cruise and I just read that no electric devices are allowed to be brought onboard, other than razors and chargers. Can this be true? If so, is it actually enforced? My hair straightener is like my right arm!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Spouse brings hers on all of our cruises (haven't sailed Costa). In general, the ships are concerned about things like hot plates, warmers of various sorts - and rice cookers (that was a new one I saw on a video).

I say straighten away so long as you unplug and cool prior to storage.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

You might want to double check on the dedicated Costa forum here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=138.

However, I would expect that all hair appliances are allowed.

Yes, definitely check on the Costa board. Since the parent company is Carnival, and some of the ships are sisters to the Carnival ships, (I think, or at least pretty closely related) the electrical systems should be very similar, and the restrictions for electronics should be as well. There are not many cruise lines brave enough to deny women their hair appliances!
