Hello from a cool and cloudy Reykjavik!

This is bucket list territory [emoji3]

All clear given to go ashore well ahead of time and the stampede is underway.

Have booked a 7 seater and shuttle to the car rental is 09:30 so just getting some breakfast.

Seas have been very kind to us which was a big fear.

I think we have seen a whale! Via the bow cam on the TV. Was certainly moving like a whale.

I must say hiring a 7 seater, half a tank of diesel, lunch and entrance to the Laugarvatn Fontana spa was less than £300 for all 6 of us.

The quote of the day when we ventured off the main road was......

"It's like Scottie has teleported us down to a strange planet!"

Never forget yesterday that's for sure.

 

About to sail away from Reykjavik and the wind has blown over the chairs in the great outdoors.....time to test the patches I think!

Can't wait to see Akureyri tomorrow going on the NCL history and nature excursion.

Enjoyed and loved these images ... clouds, hilltops, the towns & villages & "cities" sort of reminding me of our Alaska cruise, which was quite a few years ago, in a different way.

 

Thank you for sharing & taking your time to post ... to cruise and travel is, to us, to see these sights & sound, and smell the countryside & nature. And, not the pursuit of specialty dining and how one is being pampered onboard ... although, those are just as important to some.
