flcraigs5 Posted August 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Hi everyone :) We are cruising on the Sun at the end of November out of Miami. We are in a Forward Penthouse suite. There is no Haven on the Sun so can anybody tell me if we go to a special check in area? Thanks for any help.

Btw, forward facing rooms are the best rooms on the ship!

DMH15 Posted August 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Yes. In fact the Sun is my favorite ship. There are only 20 suites and that is for one concierge and two butlers. It is very nice indeed. When we cruised on the Sun out of Miami we were escorted to a private section where suite guests had snacks, beverages, etc. then we were escorted to Il Adagio, which is now La Cucina. That is the suite venue for breakfast and lunch. It is lovely. Hope you love it as much as I have, in my 25 nights on that special ship. Bonus: Brian Walters is a wonderful Hotel Director and a very nice man. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I am just trying to be informed as I will have my elderly father in motorized wheel chair with me and trying to be as prepared as possible LOL

I am just trying to be informed as I will have my elderly father in motorized wheel chair with me and trying to be as prepared as possible LOL You will be escorted. There will be a private waiting area and someone will escort you onboard prior to the start of general boarding. Since the Sun is not based out of Miami (yet) and will be on a similar schedule to the Sky, don't know exactly which terminal she will use. Squidward Q Tentacles Posted August 24, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Pretty much just as you go through security you will see the door to the suite reception area to your left .

I am just trying to be informed as I will have my elderly father in motorized wheel chair with me and trying to be as prepared as possible LOL They gave us our room keys in the suite waiting area, you do not go through the regular check in. We had a forward suite on the Sun, we love the aft but decided to try the forward just for a change, the forward balcony was huge, it felt like we were on our own private yacht, you will love it. Recently in Port Canaveral we were told there was no special line for Haven… My sister walked around and she actually found it. flcraigs5 Posted September 19, 2017 Author #13 Share Posted September 19, 2017 Ok next question. We were just able to view our e documents. It doesn't show the SG for suite just the room number 9201. How will anybody know its a suite if we show our boarding pass to them?
Love my butler Posted September 20, 2017 #14 Share Posted September 20, 2017 Ok next question. We were just able to view our e documents. It doesn't show the SG for suite just the room number 9201. How will anybody know its a suite if we show our boarding pass to them? In my experience many of the port staff are clueless when directing/checking in suite guests. You must continue to insist you are in a suite and want to be directed to the VIP/Suite line, waiting area.
