:(Okay, now I need technical help, please, please, please. I have spent three hours researching how to download photos to this board, and I still cannot do it. Aaargh !

I have a Windows 10 PC. Just a regular Windows 10. When I try to download photos right from my hard drive, the software here says that they are too large and must be only a certainly amount of pixels. But, when I edit the photo to that required size, it is too small to view adequately.

Then I uploaded a photo to Shutterfly. When I right click on that photo, I can see "Copy Image Location", and when I do that and paste it into the "Manage attachments" section here, then I get the warning message "Invalid". What I am doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :(

Thanks so much. -- EBC

Let's try again...... Here's a photo from Emerald's port side, looking forward, with part of her bridge on the right side of the photo. We're in Tracy Arm Fjord, with gorgeous aqua green water and floating chunks of crystal blue glacial ice. ( We are looking eastward, directly into the rising sun at about 7:30 A.M. - sorry this photo is so washed out).

Great review; I was on Emerald in July. Corey and Theo are great. Corey joined the ship in May; so I suspect he will be onboard for six months which means maybe in Oct he will leave. They have a great staff on that ship. I am so glad you figured out how do copy and paste from shutterfly. That is how I upload all my pics an I don't have to worry about losing any resolution or resizing. Here is a pic from my July Tracy Arm trip. We were the first ship to sail into Tracy Arm for the year. Up until our voyage in July the captain said there was too many icebergs in the way; so we were so glad we got to see it.enhance

Thank you for the excellent photo ! You had a great good fortune to visit Tracy Arm on a sunny day, which is very rare. Isn't that a gorgeous place? The captain told us the same thing -- it's difficult to get into Tracy Arm if it's too foggy, too cold, or has too many icebergs. Last week he said that it's doubtful that the ship can get into Tracy Arm for the last 2 sailings of the season. ( They don't want to collide with an iceberg and have a repeat of the Titanic).

Aren't Corey and Theo hilarious together ? Theo grew this long mustache, which he twists and curls at the ends, making him look like the villain in an old-time melodrama. When our Ship's Tour group came onto the bridge, escorted by Theo, the Captain said, "Oh yes, I see that Mr. Moustache is paying us a visit today......." :p On our cruise, the entertainment staff was dressed in lumberjack outfits, with jeans, red-checked flannel shirts, and orange suspenders. The had an axe-throwing contest, where Corey hangs up this target that looks like a dart board, and they throw magnetic axes at it, which either stick on the board, or fall on the floor. I don't know where Corey gets the idea for all these games. Maybe they've been doing that for years, and they pass all these ideas down from C.D. to C.D. :D - EBC

Sending many positive thoughts to you for clear weather all along the Alaska coast ! It's so much easier to navigate inside that narrow fijord when the weather is clear ! If they're still having that late summer little bit of clear weather and are free of fog, then they'll venture inside Tracy Arm. The Captain told our group that he realizes that everyone wants to see the fijord, and the navigators do their best to get there.

Have a wonderful cruise and keep us posted !! Please let us know what happens. :) Best wishes, from EBC.

HI A.M.S. ! I don't have photos as nearly as gorgeous as yours, but I was thinking of your "vacation of a lifetime", which turned out to be the same for us. It was an absolutely wonderful, magical week. :p - EBC

Wandered over to the Princess threads to check out cruises for Summer 2019 and stumbled on your thread. What a breathe of fresh air to have someone who has had a great time and just wants to thank those amazing people who do so much to make our cruises so special - the crew.

If we get the chance to cruise with Princess we hope you are on board.

Happy cruising..

Thanks so much ! Before we left, I told my husband that I didn't have any expectations at all. Therefore, if things did not go well, I wouldn't be disappointed, and I would just chalk it up to experience. But, it was fabulous beyond belief.

In a rather grim world, where people's nerves can get on edge, and people can sometimes be rude and mean to each other, the genuine kindness and thoughtfulness shown by the crew is so wonderful. Pretty soon, the passengers start reflecting the kindness of the crew, and people start saying "Good morning" as they pass each other in the corridors, or holding the elevator doors for each other, or striking up friendly conversations with strangers, or all sorts of friendly things. It makes such a big difference. Shipboard life is wonderful and magical.

Hope to meet you on a cruise very soon !! :p

Well as P&O cruisers we are looking at Princess for a special anniversary cruise for Summer 2019. Just waiting for the itineraries to come out.

You never know we may sail together! Would be a pleasure.

Keep enjoying your cruises :-)

Thank you to everyone who replied !:) Here are just a few more highlights of our cruise - especially for the "newbies"....

First highlight is room service! Newbies -- food from room service is included in the cruise fare. You just call them up by pressing the designated button on the phone, and they'll bring over pretty much whatever you wish. We did this 3 times, each time they got the order exactly correct, and the same little gal brought it in about 30 minutes. I gave her between $ 3 - $5 each time for bringing a full breakfast for 2 people - heavy tray! We ate out on our balcony and watched the icebergs glide by in the fjiord.

Room service says that when you're finished w/ your meal, just cover up the plates again ( they come with circular plate covers), place it on the desk, or on top of the refrig., then take the white plastic card that says, "Please refresh room" from the back of your door, and place it out front. No need to put dishes in the corridor, where someone might trip on them or fall, or they might slide down the corridor during turbulence.

Very fun and luxurious to have breakfast on the balcony !

;p

HI ! :D By "signature line", I mean the little rectangle box at the end of the message here that says, "Sailed", then it shows the ship name. For example, my signature box says, "Sailed", and then Emerald Princess, at the end of each message.

Cruise Director Corey mentioned that he was looking forward to sailing to Hawaii in a few weeks, so it seems that Corey will continue on with the Emerald Princess. Here are some of other entertainment staff members we met:

Caitlyn, from Santa Barbara, Calif. Dark hair, glasses, just joined Princess about 12 weeks ago. She hosts the military veterans get-togethers and conducts the star-gazing talks.

Anna, from Mexico. Dark hair, pigtails. She is very, very, funny and runs the bingo and trivia games.

Hector, the D.J. who plays the dance tunes in the nightclub when the live band takes a break. He also supervises group games like paper airplane toss, and the skateboard game in the center Piazza, decks, 5,6,7. This entire entertainment staff is very high energy, upbeat, very friendly and approachable. :D

Corey has a morning tv show, called "The Wake Show" that is on from 6 A.M. to 10 A.M., when he does interviews and announces all the upcoming events -- I believe it is on Channel 21 or Channel 3.

If you're going to Hawaii then on to the South Pacific, I know you will have a wonderful time ! Please let us know all about it ! Happy Sailing !! :D

was on your cruise and anna was hilarious during the trivia definitely had the most fun on her days.
