go4ak Posted September 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2017 First time on NCL and purchased the 3 meal specialty dining package. How does having this package work when ordering in one of the restaurant? Since it's "al a carte" is there a limit (price wise) that you can reach? Is it somewhat unlimited? Just for the sake of the question... what if you wanted two appetizers, two entrees and three desserts? Thanks
Rare KeithJenner Posted September 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2017 You are limited to one entree. Outside that, it's pretty well whatever you want. In your example, you would pay for the extra entree.

We have been on multiple ships where the wait staff tell you that you get only one appetizer and one dessert (and two sides in Cagney's). We have always ignored those instructions and ordered what we wanted. And have never been charged. (But, we were ready to talk to the Restaurant Manager on the terms and conditions of the package). For example, ordering an appetizer, soup, salad, entree, dessert.
leithbones Posted September 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2017 If you don't want to use one of your 3 SDP at a specialty restaurant (e.g. Los Lobos on Dawn extremely inexpensive a la carte mexican; I would prefer to pay by room charge than burn a purchased SDP of value $27pp) be sure to explain to your server when ordering NOT to apply SDP. Check the bill when it arrives, then double check your onboard account the next day.
