noleguy84 Posted September 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2017 We just got an offer from our PVP, whom we have never spoken with. It was for a free cruise out of Jacksonville for 2, all we have to pay is $175 for taxes. We can't go because of the short notice :( Apparently it's due to the Facination not being able to port out of San Juan because of Maria. I'm sad that we can't go, hopefully someone here that can will take our place! Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app

ZoeyVictoria Posted September 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2017 I was called yesterday for the 4-night out of PC on October 8 (I think the one before the ship gets to Jacksonville) for a total of $413 (solo) or $507 for two. I have a conflict and can't go. I thought that was a great price until I saw your offer of free plus port fees/taxes.
NCTribeFan Posted September 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2017 I got a Pack-N-Play - for 10/2 5 nights out of Jax and 10/8 4 nights out of Pt C. $50 for an inside (even as a solo) with $50 OBC. And, OF COURSE, I cannot go. :( I do hope I live another 18 months or so so I can semi-retire and take advantage of last-minute offers like this! ;p

EmeraldCoastCruisers Posted September 30, 2017 #11 Share Posted September 30, 2017 What's a PVP and who has them? We've cruised many times on Carnival, but always book through a TA. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted September 30, 2017 #12 Share Posted September 30, 2017 PVP- Personal Vacation Planner I believe these offers have something to do with the casino, if you play/spend a certain amount of money the casino gives offers, for instance, on our last Carnival cruise my other half received a "bounce back offer" where they offered us a free interior cabin to be taken within three months....so people such as him and others who earn the free drinks on us card and such received these offers. Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted September 30, 2017 #15 Share Posted September 30, 2017 EmeraldCoastCruiser- Sorry explained it wrong. PVP is personal vacation planner, your generally assigned to one particular person to help you with your cruises this is different and seperate from the casino offers, but the PVP do call their clients (us) up when offers are given to us so we are aware of them. Bevv Posted September 30, 2017 #16 Share Posted September 30, 2017 Lol! Makes seance now why I wouldn't know what a PVP was! I don't gamble!!!! [emoji12]Sent from my iPad using Forums PVPs are Carnival's agents who work with cruisers. They are not connected to the casino. They work similar to Travel Agents - have a base of clients who they assist with booking of cruises. That way you do not have to call the 1-800 line for issues. If you do not have one and want to see if you could get an offer, you can call the 1-800 number and get them to forward you to one.
buddylover Posted September 30, 2017 #17 Share Posted September 30, 2017 Correct descriptions of PVP's, but the other half of statement above is correct regarding who gets FREE offers.....although PVP's are not connected to the Casino, they are often the messengers that CCL uses to pass on 'Casino' FREE offers.....those FREE offers are most often associated with the casino and given out to customers who gamble (that way CCL recoups their FREE offer more often than not....LOL). jwlnroe Posted October 1, 2017 #18 Share Posted October 1, 2017 I was called yesterday for the 4-night out of PC on October 8 (I think the one before the ship gets to Jacksonville) for a total of $413 (solo) or $507 for two. I got a rate of $79 plus taxes and fees so was like $168 pp.. couldn't pass that up!!

E@syPe@zy Posted October 1, 2017 #20 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Just booked the Ecstasy out of Charleston (10/5 - 10/9). Got an OV for 2 at a cost of $320 which includes the port fees and taxes. With a $50 OBC that makes for a very cheap cruise. It's funny because we said we would never go back to an OV after having a balcony for our last 7 or 8 cruises and I never thought I would like the older smaller ships...we'll see. But I'm pretty excited to be going! Just have to throw everything together and get to Charleston, which is about a 9 hour drive for us.
