Irish Eyes Are Sailing Posted October 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2017 I have never used the Spa Services on board like manicures, pedicures, massages or the like. Question: do you tip in cash for those services as you use them like in a local salon or does the HSC cover that? Sorry I don't know, I am probably the last person on earth that hasn't indulged in those services onboard. Thanks for the advice.
Freckles83 Posted October 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Last time I used the Spa Services there was an automatic 15% (?) or thereabouts gratuity applied and then there was another option to add more if you wanted to on the actual receipt which would be charged to your stateroom. Irish Eyes Are Sailing Posted October 1, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted October 1, 2017 Ah, makes sense. Like buying a cocktail in the bar sans the beverage package. Thanks for waking me up!:)
Rare kazu Posted October 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2017 automatic 15% gratuity for me, too - added to the bill. Of course, you can tip over and above that if you want, but do look at your bill first. I have always found the tip is added in the cost and quite clearly outlined. Iwant2BatC Posted October 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2017 One of my pet peeves is that they add it on to the acupuncturist as well. My feeling is these people present themselves as part of the medical community. Don't think people tip doctors Sent from my iPhone using Forums
RuthC Posted October 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2017 IF you are going to tip extra, over and above the added service charge, there may be an advantage to writing it in on the slip and adding it to your ship account, vs. giving it in cash. When added to the account it counts toward the bonus Mariner days for every $300 spent. One never knows when those little added extras will credit another day.
