brwngyal124 Posted October 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2017 My friends and I will be in Nassau the second weekend of December. We've never been to Nassau in the "winter". Can anyone that has gone during that time before tell me what the weather is like. What's the water like ? Is it still warm out just with a cool breeze ? Should we not go in the water because it's freezing ? Just trying to get an idea of what it'll be like. Thank you.
JT1962 Posted October 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2017 The weather in Nassau is very similar to South Florida. December can vary greatly, if a strong cold front makes it that far. The average High is around 80 and average low in the upper 60s. Water temps average 77-78 in December according to an Internet search. Our 8 year old really wants to snorkel.
Nevada Jen Posted October 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2017 This issue just occurred to me too for our new years cruise. Is the water park at Atlantis even worth it at that time of year? We are from Arizona. At 80 degrees we are wearing hooded sweatshirts!

Nevada Jen Posted October 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Anyone have any advice as to whether Atlantis is too cold to enjoy the slides in December/January ? The excursion is pretty expensive and the water park is what makes it worth it to me.
scubagirrl Posted October 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Water park slides are not heated. It can be quite chilly. Especially for those who live in warmer climates. As for the beach, I usually can't make it past my knees and I'm a northern girl.
Nevada Jen Posted October 20, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Hmmm. . . not liking the sounds of that. Considering that I have already determined that it will be too cold to lay out by the pool this weekend because it will only be in the 90s, I am guessing we might be miserable on waterslides in December! OCruisers Posted October 21, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2017 Honestly, the water temperatures can be very CHILLY!
SunshineHappy Posted October 21, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 21, 2017 We were in Nassau in Jan, both times we swam in the sea & sunbathed- very warm but we are from the U.K. so used to cold wet weather!
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 21, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 21, 2017 You just never can be sure what the weather will be like. Could be warm or even cold. Keith
BNBR Posted October 21, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 21, 2017 Dry weather in AZ is MUCH different than in Nassau. 80's in Nassau and it's quite hot. Just wait until the week of the cruise and see how the weather and water temp is and make a decision then.
PelicanBill Posted October 23, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 23, 2017 We are also going to Nassau in December. We found the ocean water there a bit cold in April 2015. This year, water temperatures have been unusually warm and I am optimistic for warmer December waters. No idea if pool temps will benefit also!
