lstone19 Posted November 2, 2017 #26 Share Posted November 2, 2017 In addition to no full promenade, you also cannot reach the aft of the ship from every deck (if you end up with the aft dining room) That's true but I believe this is true of all Grand-class and larger ships. To get from Deck 5 or 6 mid (Piazza) to the Allegro DR (Deck 6 aft) does require going up to Deck 7. In between is the Concerto DR (Deck 6 mid) and the galley, both of which are full-width of the ship.
Optotronics Posted November 2, 2017 #27 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Banning smoking in the casino ! :eek:You'll never see that happen altogether on Princess. Stopping people from gambling is the last thing they want to do. ;) Even if it's only a smaller percentage of the cruisers polluting the air. Never say never. I thought casinos would always have smoking, but here in Colorado they're all smoke free now (maybe a closed smoking room somewhere). No more smoke smell and it's bringing in more people to gamble, not less.

Maybe some day they'll make them non smoking all the time and we'll give it a try.

To get to “a” MDR which almost always the traditional time DR so after the first night, it’s guests know where to go. But the reason, I assume, is so that other DR in between can be full-width and have windows on both sides as well as the extra space. Considering that the aft DR is normally used only for dinner, the cost (in terms of space consumed) of a corridor on Deck 6 alongside the midship DR and galley would be rather high relative to the use it would get. Take away space from the Deck 6 mid DR for a corridor and the ATD waits that people already complain about would be even worse. And if we were on 5 or 6 mid ship for some reason we had to go up to 7, past Princess Live and Wheelhouse bar to reach the stairs to go back to get down to 6. At least we are healthy enough to do the stairs and handle walking, but it seemed like very poor design.
