jswdlw Posted November 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2017 I just read an old thread and it talked about the bump/hump balcony. Does anyone have a list of these rooms for each ship? I would think the 'Dawn' ship wouldn't have any.
cb at sea Posted November 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Just look at the deck plans....either on the NCL website or on this site.....you can clearly see if and where the "hump" of any ship is...if they have that feature...not all ships do. Two Wheels Only Posted November 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2017 what is a hump balcony? On certain ships, the ship gets wider/narrower in certain sections. On many NCL ships, the balcony at these points (such as 13892 on Escape) has an "extra" right triangle shaped area in addition to the usual rectangle shaped balcony. These "angled" balconies (more common term) are usually the same price as the stateroom that is next to it (if they are both the same category). The down side is that the "extra" space is easily seen by neighbors down the side of the ship. In the picture below, 13900 can see into the "triangle" if the person in 13892 is sitting in the extra space. Some angled balconies give a more forward view in addition to the typical side view. Some give an aft view. It depends on where the "bump" is located. Looking at the picture below, you can see the angled balconies that are aft-facing are deeper on one end than the other but are all larger than those next door on both sides (same category). There are other "secret" balconies that are larger or wider than those next to them for the same price but it varies by ship. I can't help with ships that aren't BA/GA/Escape/Joy/Bliss,...sorry. :(
