scottishgirl87 Posted November 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2017 So I’ve made a bit of an error...I bought candles from Bath & Body Works yesterday to take home with me. I’m boarding the NCL Breakaway today and completely didn’t think about candles not being allowed on board. I have no intention of lighting them on the ship. What will happen to them? Will they confiscate and give me back at end of cruise?
Skubi Posted November 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2017 I would put them in my carry on explaining why you have them. Ask them if there is any way they can hold onto them until the end of your cruise if they won't let you keep them with you. Better than them confiscating them or holding your luggage in the naughty room, that you have to wait on your luggage and take time out of your vacation to go and retrieve it. ray98 Posted November 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2017 I bet they take them until the end of the cruise.
scottishgirl87 Posted November 5, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Thanks, both! I’ll put them in carry on and be upfront about it at check-in. Fingers crossed!
garycarla Posted November 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Personally, I doubt anyone will notice you have them, unless you put them out in the cabin. I would not bring it up at all. If you do, they will either take them, or hold them, for sure. If you do not tell the rent a cops scanning the bags, they most probably will not even see them. I did point them out to security and was told they would be fine, no questions asked after that! Thanks for the help guys

After all, what prevents any passenger from lighting them? (other than fellow passengers throwing them and culprit overboard)
