TBax Posted November 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2017 We are sailing on the Gem this weekend. Can anybody tell me anything about their Poker Tourneys? Specifically looking for a starting chip count and a blind structure. Also, what is the rake for their cash game. Ive seen as high as 15 bucks max per hand and wanted to know what it was on the Gem? The cash tournaments are you $80 buy in with 2000 chips to start with 30 min levels. For the first 2 levels its unlimited rebuys at $80 per rebuy for 2000 chips. After the first 2 levels , there is an $80 add on for 2000 chips. After that, no more rebuys or add ons. For the satellite tournements to the big gsme on the epic, it's a $100 buy in with all the same structures as above. For Cash games, it's a 10% rake up to $25 per hand
sloperate Posted November 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Tourney is set up to go rather quickly, so don't delay. Look for a quick start.

TBax Posted November 6, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Wow. Thats the worst structure i have ever heard of. 10 bigs to start? Damn. Not real poker. Not even close. And 25 dollars max per hand rake? Thats criminal I will assume thats 2/5? Thanks for the info.
Mike_DeA Posted November 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Skeeter is correct about the cash tournaments. Top three places are paid Mkerewski is correct about the Satellite tournaments, but there is more to it. The prize pool must reach $2,100 (28 total buyins/add-ons less the 25% cut to the house). Only first place is paid. So if the pool doesn't reach $2,100, it becomes a cash tourney, winner take all. If the pool reaches $2,100 then any excess cash goes to the winner along with Poker Challenge entry into the $1,100 event and a free inside cabin for two. Winner has to pay CAS fee of $140pp and port taxes. Btw- the 2018 Poker Challenge will be on the Escape out of NYC, 11/11 - 11/18/18.

Mike_DeA Posted November 6, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 6, 2017 What about SNGs? No Sit-n-Gos. Unless you count the SNG for the Poker Challenge that is displayed near the poker table with a sign-up list. It's $275 and they must get a full table for the cruise/Main Event tourney seat to be in play. I've never seen it go off though, since there has never been enough interest. Rare BostonGal35 Posted November 6, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 6, 2017 we are avid hold em players. that said, we never play the tourneys on board NCL. htey just arent worth it, and people constantly go all in with crap and keep rebuying. its a waste. often you can find a good group of cash players late night (post 10pm). TBax Posted December 27, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted December 27, 2017 Just to wrap up this thread. The satellite didn't come close to 2100 so it was 1 prize for 1st. I ended up chopping that one. For the top 2 spots. Played 3 other tourneys, none of which had over 11 entries so they were more like sngs. Chopped the top 3 in 2 of the other 3. Just buy in before the cut off and add on and you will have 6000 chips and blinds at 400/800. Play was very week. The cash game was very slow to start. None the 1st 2 nights. Then a bunch of us from the tourneys bassically all agreed to show up at 9pm and it was then a nightly event. The casino dropped it to 1/2 from 2/5. The cash game was incredibly week.
