Flight Time Home - Allure to FLL / Only For those that have taken early flights

Hi.

I understand the risks involved in trying to get an early flight home. I know some do/some don't. I try to get the

earliest I can possible and would like to hear from others, just like me. ;p

I am asking, for those that take/have taken, early flights home from Allure to FLL, what time did

you get to the airport and what time was your flight. I am fully aware that I need to leave my cabin very

early and walk off with my suitcase.

Thank you all for letting me know.

9:45 flight. At airport at 7:10. Through bag drop and security by 7:40. Lined up at 6:00 onboard with bags.

Thank you very much for your detailed report. I appreciate it. I would like to also hear from others that have done the same as above. Thank you all very much!

I think we had a 10:30am flight and had plenty of time to spare. FLL is really close to the port.

Thank you. So as of now, quitebob is in the lead with 9:45 am, which I would most certainly book when my flights open but not sure it's an option.

Good morning.

A couple things to consider

1. are you in a suite or in a normal room (suites/grand and above will get escorted off and it would expedite your exit)

2. If not in a suite, as mentioned you MUST do self carry off if and line up early (6 am as noted) If you actually wait in

customs to get your bags, the opportunity for your early flight drastically diminishes

3. Do you have TSA precheck? Precheck will also greatly speed up your security check line

That being said. The earliest I have done is 9am. (that scared me a little) I usually prefer to book between 10am and 11am

The other consideration is.. Even with the best laid plans, the ship can be late, or detained in customs and everything goes out the window.

If you are a worrier, I would not book before 11.. why make the last day of your vacation a nailbiter. If you are a "go with the flow" then roll the dice and see what happens. There are those that have even made 8:30 flights. Depends on so many factors though

Thank you. Yes, we have TSA precheck.

So, you have done 9 am on Allure to FLL, is that correct? I'm a little of a worrier but more of a planner and understand all the risks involved. I haven't read about anyone booking 8:30 am flights but you seem to have seen them, is that correct? That is very early but wonder if doable. It looks like quietbob could have made, I guess, an 8:30 am flight although his was 9:45 am, which I think is a great time.

I made a 10am no problem.

In general if you line up early you should be able to walk off and be through customs by 8:30. If all works well you may be able to make a 930 but you been to be careful. These days the plane lock up before departing time.

We did self disembarkation on October 29th. We were in line just before 0600 and were off the ship by 0615 (started letting us off early) and were through customs getting in our taxi by 0625. We were at the airport by 0635. We were just grabbing a rental car but if we needed to grab a flight it could have been a very early one. Just make sure you are lined up early and you'll be fine... barring any unforeseen delays.

PS We have TSA precheck totally worth the money in my opinion

Thank you. I believe 10 am seems to be an okay time to book. I was wondering if anyone had actually booked/made earlier, knowing all the risks. silentbob made 9:45 am, hope I can see something about that time.

HI,

I have done a 855 am but

1. I had a suite so we got walked off by the conceirge at 6:45

2. I was carry one so I did not have to wait in line to check bags

I would personally use math like this

1. allow minimum 1 hour to get off ship and clear customs

2. if taking a cab allow 30 minutes to get to airport

3. allow 30 min to check bags

4. allow 30 min for security

5. be at gate 30 min early

so if you do that math it's about 3 hours of stuff

so 9:30 is doable 10:00 am is smarter but again, so many variables

I have cleared the ship iin as little as 15 minutes before and been at the airport by 7:30 am (then security/ check in)

I could sleep comfortably with a 10am (and even that can go wrong) but anything before is a gamble. (not that you cant make it because many people can and do)

(quick edit... I have done the allure/ oasis a total of 7 times out of fll so I have a pretty good gauge)

Wife and I actually made an 8:45 am flight. It was very close but do-able if you are willing to accept the risks. My advise is to shoot for a 10:30 flight.

My friends and I just did an 8:30am flight off the Allure. It wasn't our choice, the airline moved our flight up. It was really tight. We did self disembarkation, were through customs and in a cab by 7. We arrived at the airport by 7:15 and were through security by 7:30 (we all had global entry - TSA precheck). If we didn't have TSA precheck, we probably would have been at the gate by 8 just in time to board. I was worried that if we delayed at any point leaving the ship we would have missed our flight.

Thank you. I'm thinking 9 am would still be okay for a risk taker trying to get home as early as possible but

I don't see any flights around that time, although I'm still waiting for Southwest, Jetblue and Spirit to open up

but in looking at Sundays, their flights don't seem to work coming home (only going). I can get 10 am on I think one legacy carrier but had hoped I could find a little earlier.

We have a 9:17am flight booked for a Sunday return off of Allure on JetBlue in their Mint Class. We are staying in a Star Class suite so should be able to get off of the ship pretty quick from my understanding. Wife and I have TSA Precheck and kids will have JetBlue's "Even More Speed" so I'm thinking we'll be OK if we start to walk off by 7am.

Thank you. I won't be in a suite but think I would do 9:00 am - 10:00 am. Best I can see is 10 am and will work with what I have. Enjoy your cruise? When are you leaving? We are cruising Allure in August.

Returning from allure on the 19th. I originally booked a 9 AM with United 5 months in advanced. Received an email 45 days before stating there has been a Schedule Change Notification for reservation. My flight was moved 33 min earlier to 8:27 AM. SMH. I am little bit more worried. Oh well.....as as long as it doesn't cost me any more money (other than hotel) im willing to stay another day in town). I'm off monday.

Good luck, but I bet you can make it if all goes smoothly. Can you please come back and report how much

time you had from getting to airport to your flight? Enjoy!

I have gotten off both Oasis and Harmony, self-assist, at 6:45. I skipped the "line up and wait at 6AM" crowd. Both times I've been home around 7:20 or so. I live 15 minutes past the airport.

The general consensus is that if the ship isn't delayed, then getting to the airport before 7:30 is very reasonable doing self-assist.

If you do self-assist and try and line up early to be one of the first off, I actually think you should have no problem making the 8:30 flight let alone 9 - 10AM.

Hopefully you update everyone.

Very normal and has been like that for years. Plan on the boarding door closing about 10 minute prior to the scheduled departure time. Paperwork for the flight isn't finalized until boarding has ended, and it takes a few minutes for that.

I have a 10:20 in Feb and I am in a panic. I never book that early of a flight but it was all that was available at the time. Fingers crossed that we will be OK!

Don't panic! I'd probably book a 10:20 on purpose, lol. That's WAY more than enough time to get off Allure and get to the airport. Just plan on heading down to the gangway around 6:30AM, self-assist, on disembarkation day.

Seriously, do NOT let this worry you. You'll end up at your gate by 8AM with 2 hours to sit and do nothing. 10:20 is a very practical time and super easy to make.
