babynurse06 Posted November 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2017 I hontestly think it varies from cruise to cruise. I’ve been on Getaway 4 times, and for me, it ranged from noticeable but not bothersome to bothersome, but tolerable. It never made me feel like I wanted to stay away from the atrium area. Just got off Escape about 3 weeks ago and literally got sick from the overwhelming smoke. Had a terrible allergy flare up which led to asthma attacks and bronchitis. But Escape gets basically the same feedback as Getaway. It ranges from “barely noticed” to “I’ll never sail NCL again!” on these boards, so I think it really does just depend on the week and the casino crowd. I’ve been on Getaway twice and it really depends. Just don’t sit in the atrium and ask for a table near the back and you should be ok. karoo Posted November 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2017 Personally - the only way I coped was to avoid the area anywhere near the casino, the hallways nearby, plus Le Bistro. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Cindyscruising Posted November 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2017 We had a wonderful dinner at Le Bistro inside and zero smoke smell..they do have tables outside the restaurant so I️ would avoid those Sent from my iPhone using Forums
zqvol Posted November 16, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 16, 2017 Can anyone speak to the smell of smoke on the Getaway on Decks with the restaurants! I can smell smoke if it is anywhere close, and never noticed it on the Getaway except when I was actually walking through the casino. The smell stories are over blown in my opinion. Smoking is allowed in designated areas. If you are in a designated area, you will smell smoke.
