phabric Posted December 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Anybody stayed at the hotel Princess uses in Rome? I know Princess charges per person. Is the transfer to the ship included in the hotel price? Any suggestions for a hotel? For 2 late 60 year old ladies. How far is the port from Rome? How do passengers get from Rome to port - ship's transfer, private car, taxi? Costs?
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2017 Depending on traffic the ride to the port is anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. If you book the hotel you could get transfers to the ship. We use one of several companies providing a private vehicle and driver. They are: Rome Cabs and they are not a taxi service. Their web site is: http://www.romecabs.com Keith

Most of these questions are discussed daily on the Italy board, here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=595 Common transport methods are train and private transfers. Cab is the most expensive. We prefer Rome in Limo.

If you book a pre-cruise hotel package with Princess transfers from the airport to the hotel and transfers from the hotel to the ship's port in Civitavecchia are included. It's about a 1 hour+ trip. If you book a hotel on your own you have to arrange transfers on your own.
