Packing Question

We are taking a NYE cruise out of NOLA. We have only taken summer cruises in the past as DHs schedule rarely allows for travel during other seasons. 5 day western-Caribbean. What types of clothes should we pack? ie. Will DD and I need sweaters and pants for the night or are summer type dresses okay?

Opposite from you, my husband work schedule only allow us to travel during this time of year. 😀.

 

You only need sweaters only in NOLA. Summer dresses will be perfect.

Do take some raincoat with you because we seems to run into little rain every cruise for the past 3 years. Nothing major, just a little sprinkle here and there.

It's always cold in dining rooms & theatres so definitely bring a sweater or wrap/scarf!

That time can be very very cold in NOLA. Just keep checking the temps before you go. You might need a coat/pants for your time in NOLA.

Once we were in New Orleans on NYE and the pipes in many hotels froze ... so do check the weather before you go. ;)

We cruised from NOLA on Jan 6 a few years ago. It was 19 degrees that morning. That's very, very cold unless your last name is Claus.

 

I would also suggest if it is pretty cold when you leave you may want to prepare for some chilliness. That trip we had a sea day that was chilly and it was rainy and cool in Cozumel. If you have clear weather it will be nice and warm though.

We returned from a New Years cruise a few years ago. Sunny and 84 when we left Florida, it was -18 with a wind chill of -45 when we landed in Chicago. Talk about a shock to your system.
