Cash a check I rea

I still get travelers' checks at AAA. Princess was still cashing them in Feb. on the Crown.

 

I'm a senior woman traveling alone; I won't carry large amounts of cash. Travelers' checks for me!

 

 

Our AAA here as of 2 years ago no loner does traveler's checks, but the debit card...thus only can take out $500 a day with a $6 fee.

Some lines do cash personal checks. Celebrity does ($200 pp once per cruise). But I have never known Princess to do this.

Princess used to cash personal checks but that stopped some time ago. I'm not sure when they stopped it.

Does anyone know if you can cash a personal check onboard and if so where?? I really don't want to pay a high fee to use an ATM on the ship if I don't have to. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Let's assume that you are paying $5000 for the entire cruise. Let's also assume that the "high" ATM fee is $10. I think that it is less but we will assume $10. This means that your "high" ATM fee is only 0.2% of your total cruise cost. Looking at it another way, it is only 1 1/2 drinks, 3 cokes, etc.

 

Seems like a bit of a fuss over nothing.

Interesting justification of $10 ATM fee but really don't see what the point is. A $10 ATM fee is plain outrageous and usury in practice.
