Hey all!

We’re headed on Jewel in January with 2 other couples, one which will be celebrating their 10 year anniversary and another friend will be celebrating a birthday while on board.

Would the waiters do anything fun for them at dinner on their special days? And if so, does anyone know how we would go about setting it up?

Thanks for any info!

You can contact whoever booked your cruise and have them note the special days in the booking(s).

However, unless you arrange (and pay) for something extra, you are likely to only get a single slice of cake and a song from the wait staff.

Also- to avoid disappointment, please remind your waiter of the event taking place. We’ve had bdays and anniversaries onboard, and they’ve never done anything if we don’t remind them. The times we reminded them, we got cake and a song :)

We have found that anniversaries are not celebrated at dinner anymore. We told them when we booked the cruise that the special occasion was our anniversary and they asked the date, which we told them. Each time I called they mentioned it. Nothing happened anytime on the cruise at dinner.

I think they just acknowledge birthdays now. Maybe if you actually tell the waiter in advance about the anniversary, something might happen.

We did not really care that nothing happened, but they should not ask for this when you book and give you the impression that it might.
