Bahamas Weather In January?

We will be heading out on the Elation 1/8/18 porting in Nassau and HMC. Has anyone been to the Bahama's early January, if so what was the weather & temp like?

Highs should be in the 70s to low 80s, water temp should be in the 70s.

We sailed to the Bahama's from Port Canaveral this past January; I thought it was chilly on the ship in the evening time. Nassau was warm enough to lay on the beach with a swimsuit and cover up; my 9 year old daughter and some others were brave enough to get in the water but it was too cold for me (we are from eastern NC near the beach). In Freeport it was hot enough to get sun burned and the water was warmer; I did get in the water for a banana boat ride and it was a comfortable temperature. I was in Nassau last week during a cold front coming through. It was cold. Nobody can predict the weather, so it is best to either load a weather app on your phone or keep checking the forecast online, right up until you leave.

We do not go to the Bahamas in the winter. We are divers and the water is way too cold. I would need a full 5 mm wet suit with hood and booties.

Were on the same cruise 1/8/18. We cruise quite a bit from Jan-March. You never know. It’s been great in January and freezing in March and visa versa. Fingers crossed it will be warm I actually hope it will be hot for HMC. One of my favorite beach stops!

It can range from warm to very chilly, from sunny to cloudy and rainy.

Just there this week and the weather was perfect. The water temp was not bad once you got all the way in.
