WanderingRN84 Posted January 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2018 So we are planning our first cruise this summer. We will be traveling with my husband, my daughter, her boyfriend, and myself. We currently have 2 oceanview cabins booked (husband is 6', boyfriend is 6'3"). Should we switch to 1 balcony or would we be ridiculously cramped? We will be on the Celebrity Summit out of Cape Liberty, NJ. Thanks!
Rare Essiesmom Posted January 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2018 Two bathrooms are always better than one, although your husband and the boyfriend might enjoy showering in the spa, where I understand the showers are larger. Sleeping arrangements would be different. In two OV cabins, you can both have the large beds, but in the balcony the 3/4 occupants would be on a sofa and upper bunk. CHEZMARYLOU Posted January 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2018 I would stick with the 2 ocean view cabins. One cabin with the 4 of you would be very cramped and the sleeping arrangements for the 3rd & 4th cruiser would be severely lacking. I've seen complaints from cruisers who have had 2 younger children complain about the sleeping arrangements.
WanderingRN84 Posted January 1, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted January 1, 2018 Thank you very much to both. We will stick with the two cabins. And the spa shower is a great tip for those tall boys!
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2018 We used to be in the same situation. Best to do it as you have planned. It would be too many people in one room and yes the two bathrooms are a big plus. Keith
cb at sea Posted January 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2018 I would NEVER put 4 adults in one cabin.....especially on vacation.
cbelc Posted April 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2018 Typically, regular balcony rooms are small. There is enough room for one person to pass between the bed and desk. If you are lucky, you’ll get a small sofa and a chair. It would be fine for 2 adults and 2 small children, but very tight for 4 adults. cbelc Posted April 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 1, 2018 Did I mention the closets? Closets are minuscule, usually just big enough for the 12-15 hangers you’ll get. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
