Hotel recommendation near San Pedro Cruise Terminal or LAX?

First time poster. I'm taking a Princess cruise with my sister, leaving April 7, 2018, from the San Pedro Cruise Terminal. We will be flying into LAX from Seattle the day before. Should we stay near the airport or the cruise terminal? Any recommendations appreciated.

I'd stay in San Pedro, Crowne Plaza is very nice.

We have stayed at the DoubleTree a couple of times. It is right near the port.

So have we. It is a a very nice hotel and has a free shuttle to the port. Just be sure to sign up for your preferred time when you check in.
