Simmonds87 Posted January 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Cruising with our parents, we have the Premium drink package and they have the classic. How does this work in restaurants when dining together? Or in Bars? Do we need to make the server aware? Or split the ‘bill’ before hand? Would hate to order something over their limit and they get charged instead of us.
cruzzzinma Posted January 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Each person ordering a drink is charged on his or her card.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted January 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Just let the server know what package everyone has and he/she will suggest something within the limits of that package. There will be no bill to split since you cannot share a package. If your parents order something above the classic limit they will be charged the difference. If you both order the same thing, thinking wine here, and it is above both limits, you will be charged less per glass than your parents.
Simmonds87 Posted January 10, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Thanks! This must get confusing with large parties!
CHEZMARYLOU Posted January 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Thanks! This must get confusing with large parties! Not really because every one has to provide their sea pass to the bar server. We once had a large group dinner in Silk Harvest and we were the only ones with a beverage package. We just let the server know that we did not want to join in the ordering of bottles of wine, nor did we want to share the bottles that others were purchasing because we were happy with by the glass wines and did not want any of the other guests paying for our wine. Algebralovr Posted January 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2018 No problem at all! We cruised with groups of 8 and had no issues. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Luvcrusn Posted January 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2018 We've never had a problem. Each time anyone order a drink they have to present their seapass card. The card has the drink package designation. Each passenger will be charged (or not) depending on their card. We've never had to verbally tell any server what package we had. In the MDR or Blu, if using the same server they don't even ask for our cards after the first night.
MEcruzr Posted January 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2018 It makes things EASIER! There's no splitting anything or concern about ordering something "too expensive" if someone else might be paying for it. When we traveled as a family group a few years ago each of us got a drink package to avoid the "who's turn is it to pay" issue. At the specialty dining restaurants you can put dinner on cards any way you want. 4 separate, split between 2, all on one, etc.
mermaidIamNOT Posted January 12, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2018 So for a couple to get a bottle of wine BOTH have to hand over their cards?
cruzzzinma Posted January 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 12, 2018 So for a couple to get a bottle of wine BOTH have to hand over their cards? No, not by the bottle only one card is needed. The answers have been directed to wines or drinks by the glass in the beverage packages.
