TV coverage on the Oosterdam?

We will be on the Oosterdam for NY's Eve and NY Day...will they have network coverage of the bowl games? LuAnn

Most likely not. Only ESPN. However, on Sunday of the 12/3 "O" cruise they did change ESPN to CBS and showed the pro football games. The Sports Bar was rockin! Maybe if you get cozy with the Navigation officer you can convince him, he is in charge of the satillite and transponder reception.

On the Ryndam in November, the only port where we did not have the US stations was in Acapulco. Other than that port, they had all the football games on.

Maybe they've worked it out for the Mexico routes but in the past football games were hard to come by on the Caribbean routes. If you weren't too far south and it was on ESPN then you got a game. No ABC, CBS, or NBC broadcasts. I've heard that they have made special arrangements for the Super Bowl in the past but have never been on a cruise when the game was played so I've no personal experience. Of course, the Super Bowl is broadcast live to just about the whole world so they should be able to pick up a feed north or south.

Last January on the Westerdam in the Caribbean it was announced that we would be able to watch a couple of the playoffs -- it didn't happen.

In other years when Jan. 1st fell on Sunday we had the regular NFL games that day and the big Bowl Games were played on Monday.

Isn't it going to be that way this year, too?

I know the Rose Parade and I believe the Rose Bowl are never played on a Sunday and will be on Monday...don't know about the other bowls? LuAnn
