Held Captive

This one is all on me. We never attach a CC to our account. We just do the cash route. Have always had left over. Well this Liberty cruise, as usual, we didn't spend it all. I, assuming I would just get sent a check because I'm not the smartest guy, did not close out my folio account before time to go. As I am having my card scanned for the last time it makes a horrible noise and the RC guy said I had to go to Guest Services as there was a problem. I knew the issue immediately. Had my wife stay there and ran back, got a check cut, and was then able to leave. Our last RC cruise I went down the night before and closed it out. This time I neglected to for whatever reason, and assumed it would be like another cruise line a check would be sent. My bad.

So yeah, I wasn't really held captive but did tell them I would happily stay on if it would make things easier for them.

We do attach a credit card to our account, yet once our card beeped. On that cruise we had significant nonrefundable OBC, and we spent almost all of it. Maybe a dollar or less of OBC remained...did I mentioned nonrefundable. When the card reader chirped, we had to go to guest services to resolve the non-issue. We were not do a refund nor did we owe a dime, just an accounting slip on their part. Not fun to be at guest services if you have a flight to catch.

I had the card reader beep on me once. I was going to work that day.

Not happy.

I made it on time to work with 5 mins to spare.

Since I rise early, I now go down at 5:45 the morning of getting off the ship to check everything is fine.

No one in line at guest services.

We observed a mother and older daughter being escorted off the ship in handcuffs after refusing to sign a Promissory Note for what they owed. Turned out they had blown all their cash in the Casino and after being warned about what would happen if they did not sign the inevitable occurred.

I don't remember which RCL cruise it was, but when I was leaving the ship they told me I had a credit balance (less than $5 and I don't know how it happened). I told them to keep it and they let me off. On HAL I found a "mini bar charge" on my credit card. Made me furious since I did not use the mini bar.
