martyap Posted January 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2018 We are doing a r/t transfer with Rome Cabs, mid week, next October. The Symphony is in port until 7pm. Would a 4pm p/u in Rome to head back to Civi a pretty safe time? I am guessing that gets us back around 5:30pm or should we head back a little earlier? With a 7pm departure what time does RCCL want you back on board?
CruiserBruce Posted January 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Most cruise require you to be on 30 minutes prior to sailing, for a port stop (not the port you first board the ship). But I would check with RCI, as it is a specific cruise line policy, which doesn't vary by port, I suspect. In any event, I think 5:30 for a 7pm sailing is wise. Rare cruisemom42 Posted January 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2018 This sounds reasonable to me. As cruiserbruce says, most ships want you back onboard 30 minutes before departure. If you have any question, Rome Cabs has more than enough experience to provide their recommendation.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Yes all lines we have sailed want you back 30 minutes prior to leaving port. Your plan is good because it provides another one hour of pad which is what we would want for unexpected delays due to traffic/accidents. euro cruiser Posted January 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Just tell Rome Cabs what time you need to be back on the ship and they'll tell you what time you need to leave Rome. Their reputation among cruise passengers is important to them so they'll add enough pad time to ensure you get back on time.
