On the Magic - MDR tables for 19?

We are on the downhill slide to our cruise on the Magic.

There will be 19 of us going - ranging in ages from early 50's down to 3.

We know that we can't all sit at one table, but I'm thinking about asking to see if

we could be seated at 2 round tops for 8 and a 4 top (all in close proximity).

We do have teens and tweens who could occupy the 4 top and the adults and

smaller kids could sit at the round tops. We love the round tops because of

the ease of having conversations.

Any other suggestions from any of you that have cruised with large groups?

Thanks in advance!

You get all the reservation numbers together, then you either tell your Travel Agent to link all the reservations or you call a Carnival and have them “Link” all the reservations.

All this does is link everyone for fixed dining in the MDR.

You could also email the maitre'd now, although your cruise IS getting close. (I forget the ship identifier codes for the email addresses, but they're posted elsewhere on the forum.)

If you were on the Vista, you could all have the same table. There is reportedly a round 20-top table in its MDR. :o :o

I found the ship ID codes; you plug them in (XX) when emailing the maitre'd. Be sure to include your booking numbers and stateroom numbers. So, for the Magic, it's mcmaitred@carnival.com.

In my experience you will probably not get a response and they are not required to respond (there is no official policy directing anyone to email the maitre'd), but also in my experience they have acted on my request.

Thank you! I had this list before but had somehow misplaced it. I'm hoping I have our dining issues resolved.

Here's hoping.

Drop by the MDR when you board and check with the maitre'd. Seems like it's usually the midship dining room, lowest floor.... so Deck 3, I think, in your case.

We have done 18 people, 22 people and even 12 people and have always had tables together. When we had 22 last year, we had two twelve top round tables in the back but we had to link together our bookings with carnival. Don’t make mistake I made in summer, booked all myself and had them all on my profile and thought I had linked. Come to find out they had us in random groups in different dining rooms even. Real bad. But soon as we got in the ship, the we found out the time to make changes and ran to dining room. They were not able to accommodate us the first night but after second night in, they got us a great table at the front for our party of 12. They did get us moved to the same dining room that first night but split us up, we had six on one floor and six on the second floor of the dining room. Not ideal but they tried. Then second day we got a notice that we had a new table for dinner that night.

Linking the rooms is easily done by calling carnival. One person in the group can do it but you will need information for each cabin:

1 - names of people traveling

2 - birth dates for each person traveling

3 - booking number for each cabin

4 - PIN number for each booking

We have 16 on the magic in November. All 7 bookings are linked. We are expecting to be split between 2 (10 person) tables for dinner. This is the second large group we have traveled with reservations linked Iike this. They did a good job keeping the group together last time.(y)
