Arcade how does it work for kids

I was looking into this for our first cruise with our 9 YO grandson... we will be able to set a spending limit on his S&S card so that he can't go crazy in the arcade... We've already talked about letting him have $25 for the cruise to use in the arcade. If he doesn't use it, he can choose to spend it however he likes!

If we didn't limit it, he'd spend hundreds on milkshakes alone!

Something to remember, the ships are cashless. Everything that you do on board goes on your sail & sign card.

Definitely want to throttle your kids spending in the arcade. Our last cruise my son who was 13 at the time met us before dinner and asked us before we went to dinner could we load more money on his card, he had spent $50 since lunch at the arcade. Needless to say, he didn't go back to the arcade. We went to dinner and he went to the pool, upset that he wasn't back at the arcade. lol

Carnival needs to lower the price on the arcade games. Kids need somewhere to go that won't break the bank.

Kids club, water works, pool. The arcade is the kiddie version of the casino, so it's doubtful that they'll be lowering the prices any time soon.

OP, regarding cost when we were on Glory I went into the arcade to check it out and noticed that there was a Walking Dead game. Since DW is a huge fan I pointed it out to her and she played one game. $1.25 was charged to our S&S account (which come to think about it doesn't seem out of touch with what land based arcades charge).

No arcade for our kiddos! They have hundreds of dollars of gaming system equipment at home.

Like I tell them. "Go outside and play." Or in this case, "Go on deck and play, swim, golf, play basketball, ride the water slide, play shuffle board."
