robbykapnj Posted February 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Hi, One of the three people in my stateroom for a three night NCL cruise in less than 3 weeks just found out they can no longer go. -Is there any way they can get their money back or get a credit? -Should we call NCL now and tell them or wait until we get to the pier? -Will I be allowed to check in online for only three of us? If the third person is no longer going, should I not even bother checking them in? -If I manage to find a friend to replace the person who cannot go, will NCL allow a name change this close to sailing? -What is my best option to proceed with our cruise? Thank you very much.
Budget Queen Posted February 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Call your booking agent- for name change possibilities. No, there are no refunds. It sounds like no insurance is involved?
LrgPizza Posted February 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2018 If they have insurance and the reason for the cancellation is a covered reason, then they will get a refund. Otherwise, they won't. In that case, they can just be a no-show at the pier. It's too late to replace them with another person.
brookie848 Posted February 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Even if they end up not going and just being a no-show, you still need to check them in so that you can download your eDocs.

Thank you very much. Getting money back is governed by the contract. I believe that within 30 days of sailing that no refunds are given. You can check in for anyone that you want, but there is not need to check in for the missing person. NCL is very good with name changes. They allow them up until a couple of days prior to sailing as long as one of the people in the cabin is the same. Since you are dealing with a third person int he cabin there should not be any issue at all.
