chloebell1 Posted February 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2018 we were looking at sailing on victory in April, but after reading some of the comments and reviews I’m thinking twice. I really liked that it just had updates and the idea of seeing Key West. Some said they didn’t have hot water and the ship still had work going on. I was hoping someone that sailed in the last week or two could tell me if things are better now. We are first time cruisers and had looked at victory and enchantment of the seas. Rare L1211 Posted February 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2018 I'm booked for March 12 and worried a bit about reviews as well but itinerary and dates worked. Here's to fun aboard the Victory !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
siestakeys04 Posted February 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2018 I sailed last July, I enjoyed the soft tones of the blue cabins. They just added Guy burgers, Blue Iguana, and other 2.0 upgrades. I liked the victory it has become one of my favorite ships. The reviews had me worried about the lines at the buffet but it was nothing I have stood in before. I can't remember where but I did discover a mini buffet maybe on the lido that made omelettes and had some of the same breakfast buffet items as the main buffet. Does it have a Taste Bar? I'm new to Carnival and that has me intrigued. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ricew001 Posted February 23, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2018 I sailed on Victory in August and we had a fabulous time! Great staff and so much fun. Take those reviews with a grain of salt. My 2011 cruise on Victory is in my tag line. Just realized I need to add my 2017 review to my tag line too! Like most things in life, a cruise is what you make of it! Maggie'sMom Posted February 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 25, 2018 Just sailed her February 12th. Loved the ship and the dining upgrades of Guys and Blue Cantina were both wonderful. Interior cabin on deck 2 was plenty of room for 2 adults. DH was not cramped in the shower either and he is 6'4". Dining room food was just ok, but this certainly does not ruin the trip. After all we are on vacation and not cooking or doing dishes. Entertainment exceeded my expectations compared to other ships I've been on. Key West visit was short so a 3 hour bike tour of the island allowed us to see all the notable points. Cozumel was a lovely beach day so we did a day pass to Tequila Beach which was relaxing. We both enjoyed this ship so much we plan on taking her again next February to the Bahamas.
cmichael1279 Posted February 25, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2018 We were on Victory in December BEFORE the drydock and had a great time - would sail on her again for sure! As far as I know, the Taste Bars are gone from all of the ships - wasn't on Victory in December and wasn't on Vista last month. They were nice for a quick snack before dinner, but never say a lot of people taking advantage of them...
kemc0211 Posted February 27, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 27, 2018 I was on the Victory last March. Loved the ship! Booked again for Jan 2019. Would love to go sooner, but that thing called work seems to be getting in the way. Rooms were nice and clean, food was good, staff was great! Florida Paesano Posted February 27, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 27, 2018 We were on the Victory last week (19th February) and found absolutely none of the issues that some who sailed right after coming out of dry dock had reported. There was absolutely no smell of acetone/varnishes or construction materials, we had hot water the entire cruise and every public bathroom was operational. We had a great time, sailed on the Victory last November and have already booked another sort of last minute Victory cruise this April. I can fully recommend your choosing the Victory if you haven't already booked your cruise. Whichever you cruise you decide upon, ENJOY!
chloebell1 Posted February 28, 2018 Author #11 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Thanks, it seems that maybe the issues the ship had right after dry dock may be taken care of. We have been talking about an all inclusive but I really want to try a cruise that goes to Key West. After reading some of these posts it makes me think this cruise is worth booking. Wave61 Posted March 3, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 3, 2018 Just got off the Victory today. No hot water issues however there was a definate sewer smell on our balcony. We were in an ocean suite and first noticed it when we were docked in Nassau. I was hoping it would get better when we left that port but no such luck. I overheard the people in the cabin next to us commenting on the smell so it wasn't just us. No complaints other than the smell but both my husband and I are ready to try a longer cruise next time with the hope that it will be less of a party cruise. This was the first cruise we really noticed it and it was our 6th cruise. Lots of drunks staggering around and excessive noise in the hallways during the wee morning hours. tawaik Posted March 5, 2018 #13 Share Posted March 5, 2018 Thanks every one who shared your opinion of the Victory. I'm sailing her on April 23 for a girls trip. I read reviews with an open mind and do not sweat the small stuff. My intentions are to have fun, leave my troubles behind and create more cruise memories. Can you please explain? Was it in the safe? Did it belong to someone else? Did you not turn it in? Did you take someone else's money and spend it? Living4acruise2day Posted March 6, 2018 #18 Share Posted March 6, 2018 Been on Victory and found $375 in our cabin!!!Played at the casino and turned it into $1750...... This is truly upsetting to me. You stole $375 and turned it into $1750 and then come here and brag about how much you won over somebody elses loss? Karma. That's all I will say.
