Changing a booked cruise

Hi....we are maybe considering changing a cruise that we have already booked. I know if you change cabin grades on a booked cruise that the price you pay will be what it was at time of booking but what if you change to a completely different cruise. Will it be today's price or the price at the time of the original booking?Will there be an admin charge?

We booked select fare and the cruise we are considering will cost more.

They take the price at the time of the booking and as you are on Select Fare you can make a change as long as the new one is of a higher cost. So, no problem.

Thank you....the cruise that we may change was booked as soon as they went on sale so the one we are considering should be a better price than today's price

No, the price of the new one will be what it is now, not what it was when you booked the original one. Plus isn't there a £100 charge to change?

Found this out the other day for a poster .

Think rule 17 applies

"17. After a Package has been booked, P&O Cruises will try to accommodate any request for a change, but such changes are always at P&O Cruises discretion and may be subject to an administration charge of £20. Guests who have booked a Saver shall not be entitled to make changes to their Package and the provisions of this clause 17 shall not apply."

 

Not sure if that charge is per booking or per person .:confused:

The above is incorrect the conditions for changing a Select Fare are as follows (from P&Os website)

Requirements to transfer your booking:

 

• We will only allow a booking to be transferred once
  
• The new booking must be of a higher value (before fuel surcharges)
  
• Bookings must be outside of balance due period - 90 days prior to departure.
  
• The new booking must sail within - 6 months of the original sailing date for full world cruises including liners and sectors, 12 months of the original departure date for all other cruises.
  
• The transfer is subject to an administration fee of £100 per booking which must be paid at the time of the transfer along with any additional payment to reflect the new deposit amount.
  
• Any discount or promotion applicable to the original booking may not apply to the new booking, in which case the passenger shall be required to pay any difference in price.
  
• Bookings after the balance due date: Transfers are not permitted and the booking will be cancelled at the appropriate cancellation charges as per section 38 of our booking conditions.

Yes we did this. £100 admin fee and price prevailing on the new cruise as at the date of the swap.

 

We did manage to get the swap for a cruise beyond the 12 month limit imposed by P & O.

We transferred a cruise last week and the price for the new cruise was at current prices.

Same here, we changed one yesterday and the new one was at yesterday’s prices.

Thank you everyone....decided to keep what we have booked and book a new cruise....not sure which cruise line... to the destinations that we want to see.

Sorry, It was my fault I don't think I was clear enough. They take the original price of the old cruise and the current price of the new cruise and will allow a change if the new one costs more. Some on here have said they have cancelled a cruise, lost their deposit and booked another and actually saved money.
