philipsw285 Posted February 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2018 I’ve been told there’s free WiFi in the port has anyone found it as I may need to use it to contact someone when I get there. I’m taking iPhone 6s on EE pay as you go a friend told me they couldn’t use they’re contract phones while in St Lucia I didn’t know if the same problem would happen in Barbados and if the issue was contract phones? dorsetdumpling Posted February 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Free WiFi can be found in Barbados by going through the Terminal to where the buses & tours leave from. As they say follow the Crew!.
sammybonny Posted February 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2018 It is very expensive to use your mobile phone in the Caribbean from memory I think mine was about £1.50 a minute for calls and you definitely wouldnt want to use data, switch it off on your phone when you arrive! All the ports will have free wifi in a bar somewhere and as is said look where the crew go when you get off the ship. Otter18 Posted February 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Free Wi Fi is available inside the terminal. Can be a bit slow to impossible if you have a few ships in and everyone trying to get online at the same time.
wowzz Posted February 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Not exactly in the port, but the main department store in town [sorry, can't remember the name], has fast internet wifi, and a comfortable food court to sit in.
HomelessBear Posted February 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2018 I tried in a number of places in the port, and sadly it never connected to Wi-fi. Although it showed that it was connected, I still couldn’t use email or anything else. Hope you have better luck than me. Sussexboy Posted February 26, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2018 I managed to use the Wi-fi successfully as suggested by dorsetdumpling where the buses leave after walking through the terminal.
daiB Posted February 26, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2018 There is a bar outside the terminal. If you spend money, I think $5. You can use their WiFi. It is a much better signal. Sent from my iPad using Forums
EJMcruiser Posted February 26, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 26, 2018 WiFi is included in the entrance fee at the Boatyard. Always works well for us. At the terminal you either need to be there very early or very late before/after everyone else. I tried the department store once as well and that worked too. Denarius Posted February 27, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 27, 2018 There is free wifi in the terminal but at most times it is impossible to use. You are shown as connected but cannot do anything online, just too many people trying to use it and not enough bandwidth. There is a bar on the left hand side of the road walking into town, just before the shopping precinct, which has excellent wifi and much cheaper drinks prices than in the terminal.
