Hello all,

i was wondering about the cruise cash. How exactly does it work? Is it essentially putting "money" on your sail and sign account? I was thinking about doing this before my cruise but i don't want any "fine print" stuff to come about. Has anyone used this before?

My sister bought us cruise cash for our trip has a present. I got the "coupons" in our room and it was applied to our sail and sign card automatically. I downloaded the hub app and was able to check my account throughout the cruise.

The only fine print gotcha is that Cruise Cash is non refundable.

So don’t buy more than you think you’ll use.

Yes, people will jump all over this saying there are work arounds and there are. The best work around is not buying more than you’ll use.

It’s a max of $500 anyway so it’s not that big of a deal. But yeah, plan accordingly. I have $350 on my account already for April and I highly doubt I’ll use all that. I’m fine with the “workaround” if need be. Not a hassle in the least for me.

I just did Cruise Cash for the first time, leaving on 3/4 on Pride.

Usually I buy Cheers but this time I'm sailing in a cabin with a non-drinker and it wasn't an option. I bought the equivalent of Cheers in CC since I like to pay for my drinks beforehand. I also have DOU from day one (casino promo) so I'm good to go!

If there's any $$$ left, it will be gobbled up in the slots so it was a better choice than Cruise Cash Bar...

so I didn't buy cruise cash from the fun shops, I have the Carnival MasterCard. I cashed in points for general OBC, but had points left so also got some bar cash. Is their system smart enough to use the bar cash for drinks and not pull from the OBC?

What is the difference between putting cruise cash on your account and putting actual cash on your account?

Cruise Cash is on your account before you board so you don’t have to stop anywhere. You can also purchase it with the discounted Carnival GCs saving 10%. It’s use it or lose it so you will need to cash out if there is any left.

They should but I would have gone with general Cruise Cash or charged my onboard account to the card and erased the charges that way using points.

I made reservations for the chef's table, but could not prepay. Could I give them cruise cash instead?

You don't "give them" Cruise Cash. It is applied to your S&S account and everything that you spend on board (including the chef's table) is charged to your account.

I think you have to purchase it 48 hours before you sail to ensure it's on your account (might be 24 hours, firemanbobswife will know for sure! I'm sure she'll see this and tell us conclusively! She's my go to for any of the exact details!)

LOL thanks for the vote of confidence :D. It can take 24 hours to appear on the account, so it depends on when you want it available. Of course once your booking disappears from the website you would have to call and order.

Technically it can be ordered via phone up to 48 hours before debarkation but that kind of defeats the purpose in my book. I want it available ASAP.

So long story short, if you want it on your account from the get go 24 hours. But I would still do 2 days just to be safe.

Thanks for the info. I agree general obc is better but the points I had left were only enough for either bar cash or photo cash. I'll just have to watch it as we use it.
