Harborgirl246 Posted April 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2018 Has anyone ever done the adult coloring class onboard any Celebrity ships? Just curious what it is like. The activities person has a stack of coloring books and pencils and you can sit and color. I found it a waste of time. It was in the Ensemble lounge and was dark in there. Rare xxpinksaltxx Posted April 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2018 We attended the colouring class on the Silhouette. The activity person just has some colouring pages printed out and boxes of pencils. Nothing fancy, but we enjoyed it for the socialising rather than the activity. Baron Barracuda Posted April 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2018 DW does this on every sailing. It's one of the few remaining no-fee arts and crafts activities. She really misses origami.
CYNSport Posted April 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2018 I did this on a recent cruise on the Eclipse. Only a few people showed up. As mentioned, Celebrity provides coloring pages and coloring pencils. We had no one from Celebrity in the room for the session. The person who was in charge was also calling the Trivia game in another room. Still, I enjoyed it.
mimiscruz Posted July 17, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2018 We had a coloring activity on our Eclipse cruise in the Spring. It was disappointing that coloring sheets were put out, along with a box of pencils. The person in charge said they would be left there for several hours, then left the area. He told us there would be another coloring activity later that week, but none were ever scheduled. It appeared that this was not a well planned activity and may not continue. I was looking forward to the Watercolor classes and checked on them when we first boarded the ship. I was told at the information desk that they had been discontinued. I had read such good information about them and their success here on Cruise Critic. Very disappointed. Perhaps they will bring them back in the future! cmhdoogalsatsea Posted July 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2018 Has anyone ever done the adult coloring class onboard any Celebrity ships? Just curious what it is like. I've tried around the pool area, but have trouble getting people to stay still long enough to really color them.

Esprit Posted July 17, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 17, 2018 It wasn't available on Reflection according to my DD when she was the activities manager. There were some unhappy passengers!

My daughter and I attended all 5 sea day sessions of watercolour painting. Celebrity had a tutor engaged for this and we both thoroughly enjoyed the activity - so much so I collected all equipment needed for when I got home with a view to continuing once I retired. I am not quite there yet but have all supplies ready for when I am Alas..... these classes have never been repeated on any 14 day cruise we have been on :(
Curly Girlz USA Posted July 17, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 17, 2018 I went to the 'Zen Coloring' activity on the Solstice. The activity leader was 1/2 hour late, only came after we asked at reception about the activity. The excuse for being late was that the coloring supplies were locked in the safe and he couldn't open it??? The coloring activity held in a bar/lounge. We were told we could color where we were seated around a coffee table - awkward - or, at the bar where the staff was prepping to open by stocking bottles and dumping ice. Then he left us with dull colored pencils and coloring pages that had been copied so many times they were blurry. We asked around for a pencil sharpener, but none was to be found anywhere. The activity was anything but zen. Too bad, because with a little more thoughtfulness it could be a really nice time to get to know people in a quiet, casual way.
