Carnival Gift Card Question

Recommended Posts

If I fully understand the question, you would need to have the gift cards added to your S&S account after boarding (or upon check in). There is no other way to use them once you're on board (at least not that I am aware of and we've used the cards for loading credit to our S&S account).

Thank you.

You're welcome! Just a bit of advice: if you think you will have a credit balance on your account at the end of the cruise (because you didn't spend all your gift card credit) and don't want that balance given to you in another gift card, either spend it all on board or cash it out via your casino bank. ;)

What we always do is put a credit card down before we board, when we check in online. Then we just spend whatever we want on the ship. Then the last day at sea we go to GS and pay whatever on board balance we have with gift cards. 1 trip to GS and don't have to worry about anything.

Definitely have to load on to S&S card, but make sure you use it or load it on to a slot machine and cash it out before you leave or else you will get it back as a gift card. Or so I have heard.. we load everything to a slot machine on the last night and cash out right away.

You can board with zero dollars on your account. You will not be able to purchase anything until you load money on it. You can actually have for example a $500 gift card and load a little at a time. You must do this at the kiosk though, as the guest services will load the full amount to your account. The port agents will do the sane thing.
