Just Back from Equinox

Just returned from an 8 day Caribbean cruise on the Equinox. Our first with Captain Kate. She kept us well informed on a late departure from one of our ports because of 2 medical emergencies and also explained the reason we were not getting off of the ship in Punta Cana. They tried, but it’s a Tender port and the seas and the winds were not happy that day. The crew on the ship were always friendly, happy and had a smile on their face. Food was good. Service was excellent and as usual stretched a bit thin in places. The crew did their best to make everyone happy. It was one of our best cruises in the past few years.

Thanks for posting. We are doing the same itinerary May 25th and were hoping to hear about Punta Cana. What a bummer you couldn't tender, but I assume you enjoyed another "sea day" instead! We are looking forward to getting back on the Equinox soon!

Captain Kate was a refreshing change. She was more accessible than any captain we have cruised with. Our entire Equinox Staff was excellent with one exception. We had a very disappointing staff member in the future cruise area. In fact he had such a poor attitude, we didn’t book another cruise at that time.

The food in the Blu was good 95% of the time.

The nightly shows were great. The UP TOWN group was fantastic.

St Marteen still has quite a number of stores which have not rebuilt following the storm.

We were also on this cruise. I don't usually rave about a Captain, but Capt Kate-WOW!!!, She was everywhere on the ship, friendly, always willing to chat and tried to make the 10 o'clock announcements enjoyable. Rest of the staff, excellent as usual. It was our fifth time on the Equinox , love the ship.

Will she be the Capt for the upcoming summer sailings? Anyone know?

Thank you for posting as we are going on equinox in a few weeks. It’s been a while since we cruised on celebrity. Any feedback on evening shows? Thanks!

tboy58 ~ glad to hear you and the other posters enjoyed the Equinox! Was the UP TOWN group the party band or did they perform in the theater? We have been away from Celebrity for a while primarily due to their lack of good bands and dance music. We moved to Florida last summer and are considering trying the Equinox the end of June. Any info you or any others who have recently sailed on her can provide would be much appreciated.
