Yes, I know that in large part the TV show revitalized the cruise industry. But there is virtually nothing accurate on the show other than that there is a ship.

Space between tables in the dining rooms

Size of cabins

Personnel issues of all sorts

Years ago the TV show Love Boat inspired our desire to cruise. Since 86 we have cruised many times on three lines, mostly Holland but lately we have been hooked to Princess. On our 2nd Princess Cruise we watched several reruns of Love Boat in the cabin TV in the late evening, loved and laughed a lot.

2) Food and liquor is serviced

 

3) passengers take excursions

 

4) swimwear is worn at the pool

I'm still keeping my eyes out for the beautiful women with high heels strolling around the pool -- 45 or so cruises so far -- I haven't seen one yet with high heels ;)

The episode today featured a group of "over 60s" in one of the story lines, and even with that, the average age on the ship was probably half of the typical average on a Princess cruise.

I like watching them, fun shows, merely entertainment. I don't care about accuracy! When I took my 1st cruise in 1982, I knew my cabin would be small!
